Writing / reading games for Nintendo DS?

I have an old Nientendo DS which I used to use for those brain training programmes before I had the kids! DD has a limited amount of screen time (she would stare at a screen all day if we let her) but at the moment she will just play dress up fairy or colouring games on my phone. She doesn't have screen time every day, but I guess when she does it's about 15-20 minutes. Anyway, it occurred to me that during that time she could be playing something on the DS that would help with her reading or writing - in particular her writing as she is low in confidence with that. I'm wondering whether anyone can suggest a game that would work, that she can play for around 15 minutes and no longer and that she won't get bored with too quickly as those games can be quite pricey. Ideally maybe something with different levels so my DS who starts school in September could have a go too? Thanks
