hi girls!
Had my HSG today....

Appt 23rd to discuss all results, partner did his SA on tuesday, awaiting AMH ....but thank god tubes are patent!:happydance:

Whoop whoop!!! That is always nice to hear... I got the all clear as well. Now if I can just get my old eggs to cooperate! LOL. Just takes one good one right? hehe

Best of luck to you hun!

Good for your tubes too:happydance:
i think he's starting to worry now tho cos i got the ok...but i still think its an eggy problem! He has 4 grown up kids so i'd say he's ok!
fx this is our month!

Well best of luck to you hun! Fingers crossed all is OK for ya ;)

woo-hoo - pleased to hear you both got the all clear on the tubes!! I had mine last week too and also got the all clear. We're meant to be up to 30% more fertile in the next 3 months so fingers crossed for those post-HSG BFPs!! :hugs:

Hey ladies - d'you mind my asking what one of these HSG thingies are and who do I ask to have my tubes checked? My DH has 3 grown up kids so yea no problem with him (same as you Redclaire!) so if anything it's gotta be me hasn't it? I've had the bloods done and Dr has said all okay and my cycles are regular, she has said if nothing happens by the summer she will refer me to a clinic at our local hosp is this where they do the HSG?? I'm on the TWW at the mo, if AF shows she should be here by Thursday, fingers Xed she decides to have the next 9 months off!!!:happydance:

hsg stands for hysto(womb) salphingo(tubes)gram(xray). they put a tube up thru ur cervix and flood the womb and fallopian tubes with a dye that shows up on xray. If the dye flows out into the pelvis ur tubes are clear, lots of women have blockages from endometriosis, old PID, thick mucus even. My tubes were clear, yay! But in someways booo cos it looks like i'm heading into the 'unexplained fertility' bracket!! can't fix what cant be diagnosed!

Its a standard test before treatment with clomid or any of that. A gp or fertility specialist can refer you for one. Its done in a regular xray dept. On the down side it is a bit painful, like a sudden bad period pain but then its done and you get instant info about the result. And according to docs your conception chances increase by about 30% for 3 months after cos the tubes are all cleared out! I'd say to you tho ask for it now...dont wait til the summer, its a simple procedure, takes 10mins, no side effects and gives you peace of mind. I'm delighted mine is all clear! tho he's a bit worried his sperm is poor...even with 4 kids, tho the youngest is 17 so maybe the levels have dropped???
hope this is our month...but i'm ready for treatment now too...looking at IUI next incase its a cervical mucus thing...i dont get much of that (sorry TMI!!)

hope the info helps!
xxx

oh and enjoy st valentines:haha::winkwink:

Hiya Redclaire,

Thanks so much for the info it's really helped! We've been TTC for about 4 months now, Dr did say I'd not given it enough time hence the reason why the summer popped up but like you say time is of the essence!!

Good luck with your IUI treatment and that you get that BFP soon!!!
xXx

hi all, i just wanted to add to this post as I too recently had my HSG and got the all-clear. hoorah for us all! i'd agree it's a little painful but worth it for the peace of mind. i had it done in dec but since then, my mum was visiting then i was ill last month so havent been able to make the most of the cleared tubes! ah well, there's always this month :)

good luck everyone, this is my tenth month of trying... sigh.... tho to make myself feel better it's only the sixth or seventh month of trying with any sense of purpose!

Seoj and Leese!! congrats just saw your most excellent news!!!
So delighted for you guys!!

Well at fertility doc today, all good news!
tubes: clear
semen analysis: top marks!
AMH: optimal egg reserves!
all other bloods: normal!

So the plan, try au naturel for 3 months more, seeing as flushing tubes in HSG may just do the trick then....IUI when i want, i said i'll give it til May.
I'm happy with the plan as is himself. It'll mean i'll have been TTC for 12 months by May but as the AMH levels are so good doctor thinks time not critical and its all about how we feel about waiting.
May is defo the cut off tho, i couldn't cope with dragging it out more than that.

So all in all a good day which started this morning with being poo-ed on by a passing bird..good luck omen in Ireland!! so i did the lotto too in the hospital shop!:happydance::happydance::happydance:

i just tought i'd mention that since we found out yesterday that everything ok aand that time is on my side (optimal AMH and all that) i'm feeling bloody marvellous!! Soo relaxed!!! ready to take the next while as it comes, whatever happens!!:coffee::thumbup:
also our fertility specialist is just a little bit hot!! but i love my other half with all my heart...no harm in window shopping tho eh??!!:happydance::haha:
