So I am pretty sure thats what I have goin' on down there. Ichy, sore, red, swelling type of thing. TMI
I read online that you can treat it over the counter with monastat and it is okay to use while preggo.
My question is- Should I call my doctor? They would want to see me and it would mess up my gender scan! I don't want that to happen!

My plan is not to call, buy monistat, do that thing, and then if it isn't any better by June 2nd to ask doctor after my scan. Then let him do his thing.

Another question- Has anyone used monistat and have it not work or something like that?

Ha, and last one- The ichy, red, soreness, and swelling sometimes goes away and then comes back. I dont have any unnormal discarage or anything like that.... Normal? I havent ever had one before!

I used the 1-day Monistat (that comes with the itch cream), put the egg thing in at bedtime and it was better the next day.

I am so nervous! Lol I have never had anything like this! I'm an expert for Uti's but not this! haha

I had a horrible yeast infection after I went off of my progesterone suppositories. I called my OB, they told me to do Monistat but you can only use the 3, 5 or 7 day treatments because the 1 day delivers too much to your system at once. The nurse told me if it wasn't better after 3 days to call back and they would call in Diflucan. 3 days later it was WORSE that it was start so I did the Diflucan, it still wasn't better so they had me come in to do a vaginal swab. He wanted to try one more round of Diflucan instead of pulling out the big guns as he put it lol. He doesn't like to give a lot of meds in pregnancy and Diflucan is a lot safer than the other. Finally after 3 weeks, Monistat and 2 rounds of Diflucan the darn thing went away. I had them with past pregnancies but nothing that bad. He said it was because I went off the progesterone suppositories and it messed up the pH balance down there :dohh: Try the Monistat but you should let them know what's going on. It shouldn't mess up your gender scan. I know with my appts you have your set OB appts and ultrasounds scheduled and any other visits that are needed don't interfere with those.

The office I got to is dumb, the ladies at the front desk are jerks also. They hardly ever get anything right. But my doc is great! :) If I have to schedule one now they will cancel or postpone my June 2nd on (which isnt far away). I don't understand why they get mad at me for little things I cannot control.

So NO one day treatment??

My OB has always told me NO one day treatment on the 3 day or more. But I always end up having to have Diflucan because it never helps me :( And I'm sorry your doctor's office is dumb like that. I'm glad mine doesn't pull that crap or I'd be in trouble lol.

Yeah monist at is fine I used it all through my last pregnancy and once so far this time. I was always told no 1 day either. I have tried the 3 day but since yeast infections can be stronger and nastier in pregnancy they never work for me and I always have to do the full 7 day treatment.

Yes, call your Dr. He needs to check it, I recently had thrush and it put me in hospital with bleeding from the cervix due to inflammation from the infection. He needs to check nothing else is going on and that it is actually thrush because if not Monistat can make it worse. He also needs to decide to give you the 1, 3 or 7 day course. It is fine in pregnancy, it's what I used along with antibiotics for a water infection (No symptoms!) Also the cream, not the "egg".

With getting checked, the sooner the better. At the very least, call the Nurses line and get a call back.

Then complain to the office manager. It's not down to a receptionist to decide your health care and if you need an app or not, its down to you and your Dr. Tell them you need a same day app.

Stange thing- Its like gone today? Hasn't bothered me. Its all on the outside nothing inside. So I don't understand. I am thinking about just waitin' and seeing what he says the 2nd.
I kinda think it was bothering me from sweating and everything & a bit of razor burn. :/

I would call your Dr and get an app. Pregnancy makes it easier to get other types of vaginal infections besides yeast, and those ones do require antibiotics. At least if you go in you can be sure of what you have.

I'm allergic to Monistat, so my midwife suggested I try plain, live yoghurt. I had to apply it several times a day, for at least a week. It cleared it up thankfully, and made it easier to cope with when it was at it's worst.
