he's 8 months and I spotted today he looks a little yellow?

He does eat carrots but not heaps and heaps, just a normal amount, maybe a portion with every dinner or every other dinner, but not a huuuuge portion.

I'm a bit worried in case his liver is not right or anything.

Think I'll call and make a docs appointment tomorrow.

Or am I just being an overly anxious mum and he's eating too much carrot?Any similar experiences?

Hello Hun, I'd give NHS direct a quick call, they could advise you on what to do eg how yellow he is. It could be jaundice (sp)?

Hannah only gets carrots a few times a month (she hates the things) Never knew it could cause problems

I think he's too old for jaundice to be okay. but hopefully it is just the carrot thing. Has anyone else seen him? I'm not saying you're lying but I know sometimes I get something in my head with Alasdair and actually I'm just making a big deal out of nothing! But if you're worried I'd definitely get him to the Dr. How does he seem in himself?

Check the whites of his eyes. If they are off color too, then it may be cause for concern. Either way I would give the doc a call just to be on the safe side.

thanks ladies.
hahah I know what you mean bethanylee but yes, a friend and his dad also spotted he looked a little yellowish at swimming today..oh I think i got a piccie, let me look...

of course here he doesnt look too yellow at all..he's in the middle...but you can kind of see he's different...maybe I am being overly neurotic. His eyes look fine. Maybe I'll wait and see...yellow2.jpg

if you're worried take him to the doctors, yellow tinge can hint at liver problems best to be safe than sorry xx

I would take him to the doctors, the eyes turning is usually the last sign something is wrong I believe

he does look a slightly different colour compared to the other skins in that photo. I think some people do have naturally yellowy skin though and maybe it's just that coming out but I would take him to drs. Don't worry if it's nothing, better to be safe than sorry!

about the eyes thing, they're usually one of the last bits to clear with jaundice so perhaps it works the other way round in that they are the last part to show jaundice but not sure. Would get it checked just for ease of mind and to be on the safe side

I would take him to the doctors just to be safe. I hope it's nothing. :hugs:

I agree that he does look a slightly different colour ot the others in that photo (gorgeous photo btw!)

Definitely worth asking the doctor, even if it's just to put your mind at rest. Hope it turns out to be nothing though :hugs: x
