I'm making dinner for the first time this year :xmas12:
I NEED inspiration to make it look lovely and Christmassy (particularly because there's every chance we'll be eating off a reinforced pasting table :haha:)

Show me your tables from last year :flower:

I'm afraid ours isn't anything special. Our table is so narrow we struggle fitting everything on, so it's just a Christmassy table cloth and place mats for us. Plus Christmas themed salt and pepper pots etc, which I know some people find tacky, but it's Christmas with kids I'll do the classy Christmas when they are grow up haha

Ours wasn't fancy either sorry :haha: we had only just moved so I didn't have a chance to make it lovely. I'll be making more of an effort this year

We only have breakfast on ours and it's literally just the 5 of us but I brought all my stuff from Poundland last year. It's plastic plates etc for the kids but winter/christmas scenery and then plain red placemats in a snowflake design, I think I brought posh party poppers last year too. I'll try and find a photo

We had Christmas dinner at home last year and just used the table that we've had for years from IKEA and used a nice red table cloth :)

Our table is quite small. I don't have pics but we have a woodland animal theme at Christmas... placemats and coasters have squirrels, deer etc On. I need to get a new table cloth (I like oilcloth rather than fabric). We had a pretty wreath/candle centre piece last year but sometimes doesn't fit with everything else.

We have Christmas dinner at my parents. They just have a christmassy table cloth they have had for years. Cuttlery set out, and all the sauces etc in the middle, and obviously the christmas crackers at each place. The table is always full so not an awful lot of room to make it more decorative.
At home, we have a Christmas table cloth with a silver glittery runner over the top (its such a bugger as the glitter gets everywhere but I love it.)

We collected pine cones with ds1 baked them then decorated them with glitter and put them in a vase as our centre piece. it was a fun project to do together and looked good on the day

Love this idea!

This was ours, table is really only for 6 but is it even Christmas without being quashed around a table and emergency chairs :haha:

Great idea! I'm going to do this with dd. How long did you bake them for and what temp please?

Preheat oven to 200 degrees. Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil and spread pine cones across it in a single layer. Place the pine cones in the oven for 30 minutes or until the cones are fully opened and the sap has melted.

Last year we had a folding plastic table and our regular table... nothing fancy though.. will try and find a pic but think I was just more focused on the wine

I thought I took one photo... guess not. I bet my aunt did though, so off to creep her FB now rofl

Only picture I could find lol... nothing fancy at all!

Haha every Christmas I get calls from friends and family asking to borrow chairs ha ha.
Luckily just four of us usually so our dining table is big enough....my mums Boxing Day we all squeeze around. Was even worse when needed the high chair
