Zantac while pregnant?

I've had pain for about 24 hours now across my belly and under my ribs. I'm thinking it may be acid/digestion related. Have any of you asked your dr if taking Zantac 150 is ok? Also... If so, the only bottle I have in the house expired a year ago, would you still take it? Normally I'd call my dr or at least go buy new ones but it's the middle of the night and I'm desperate right now!

My Doctor actually prescribed me 150mg 2 x a day. x

Yes I take it twice a day. I have pre-existing GERD and can't take my Losec when I'm pregnant. I've really had to adjust my diet though as Zantac doesn't cut it.

If your really hurting I would go ahead and take the year old stuff until you can get a new bottle. Its not going to poison you or anything, the effectiveness just may not be as good.

I've also been taking it 2x per day since the 2nd tri. It's considered safe during pregnancy. I was eating tums like candy with my first pregnancy and didnt start taking Zantac until late, but I knew this time around that I would start taking it as soon as I started having issues. I still have days when it's bad even with the zantac but it works so much better than some of the other stuff out there.

My mw said its fine!
And like a pp said.. Taking expired is fine. Companies put dates so they can make more money.. It just might be a tad less effective

I've been taking it once a day since week 27, twice a day since week 34, on the recommendation of my doctor. It's pretty effective, so I would go for it.
