I had my beautiful little miracle 7 days ago via elcs due to breech positioning. I had to avoid eating and drinking from the night before until 3 pm next day when she was born. I was allowed to drink liquids at 5pm
The surgery itself wasn't a big deal on my side, I assume it was a lot of work for the doctors as they took their time with it. No complications but they put resorbable stitches which take longer than staples.
I was moved to recovery and the baby put skin to skin asap (my dh held her from the first few moments). After I started feeling my legs, I was moved in my room, with if an catheter so unable to move till next morning. I wasn't eager to walk, as I started to feel the pain. My face was very itchy during the night and pain was present with every move, I was given tylenol and advil only.
Next morning, catheter was removed and I had to go to the washroom, wasn't easy, but it wasn't as bad as I thought. During that day I felt the pain increased in intensity and by the end of the day I was almost crying. Days after got better and better and in 48 hours after surgery I was sent home.
Painkillers: tylenol and advil
Supplements(per me) : 2x 2 vitamin c/day with rose hips, bromelain/turmeric 2x2/day, zinc citrate 50mg 1/day, stool softener 4/day (not enough btw ),
Today I have a week from sec and I can say I am operational, I still have some pain, I can't laugh properly, I have pain in my bladder when I pee(apparently normal due to moving things around during csect ), I am able to do most of the house work slower, not heavy lifting, vacuuming, etc but basics.
This is my experience so far and I know I have a long way to recovery but I am positive and hopeful that it will not be long to hold my older daughter in my arms/lap again
