So heres my story

Weve been trying for a year now, no luck at all. Regular cycles, im using pre-seed and OPK's and nothing

Ive set up appointment to talk to a doctor about what we can do next.. Im thinking HSG but im new to this can anyone share what happen at your 1st doc appointment

THANKS!!!!!!

I haven't had my "actual" fertility appointment yet, but i didn't want to read and run! I did go to my PCM with recurring pains and mentioned our troubles ttc, so she had me get an abdominal and pelvic ultrasound done and they found cysts on both of my ovaries. I would have never guessed that is what is causing the pain, but we've had difficulty getting pregnant and that could very well be the problem. Just waiting on our specialty appts to be sure! GL to you and I hope you can get to the root of your problem ASAP.

Well hun it might not be you it could be dh... And if not its hard to say what can be done because there are soooo many reasons a woman have a hard time conceiving good luck!!! And the first line of infertility treatmeant for women is usually clomid, like if you are not ovulating or have lpd

There are so many tests that they can do. It really depends on your doctor. Have you been charting your BBT? If you have, bring your charts. If not, start charting :) I had some blood drawn and had my yearly exam all on the same day to rule out some things. They'll most likely look at your family history, your personal history...

I've said this before, but my doctor really pushed a SA (semen analysis) for husband early on. We waited longer than we should have.

I'm getting clearblue fertility monitor, only £58 on amazon instead of £100+ in Boots, thought would give that a go and see what happens. Can get cheapy OPKs on there too, something like 50+ for £10 although mixed reviews on those. Good luck x

I brought a chart with me of my previous cycle. Doctor agreed that I was ovulating. Basically she asked if my DH smokes marijuana (nope), then suggested that the first step is to have a semen analysis done. We haven't gotten that done yet, but after that she said if it came back normal then she would refer me to a specialist. I would think that for you the first steps would be various blood tests before moving on to more invasive testing.

thanks ladies! Im going to ask DH to get a analysis done :) do you think doc would put me on Clomis if im Oving on my on each month?

croydongirl hysterosalpingogram (HSG) is an X-ray test that examines the inside of uterus and fallopian tubes and the surrounding area, basically they lay you down shoot dye in and take xrays which show if you have a blocked tube :)

Moorebetter we couldn't concieve and i put it down to me having PCOS but my GP asked me to send my DH to his GP and get a SA done and 1st SA came back no sperm and 2nd came back the same we r now referred to the FS. So i do think a SA is a good idea just so u rule that out GL and baby dust xx

Yes! And I would recommend two SA's... just because my husband's first was horrible (so bad that the doctor mentioned IVF before referring us to a urologist). He took the 2nd one two weeks later and it was great. Had a call from the doctor this morning confirming the good SA. Guess husband was very nervous the first time (and may have used too much hand sanitizer!)

Good luck!

what is PCOS?

I have been able to get preggers before. Im kinda leaning toward Dh but Im hoping its a blocked tube the HSG can take care of :)

PCOS: Polycystic ovary syndrome... I used a link because there would be too much to write in a reply to answer the question.

yeah they usually do 2 test minimum as routine checks anyway as they produce new sperm every so often. to see if its the same as before or better/worse.
