I have 10 stone to lose before I get seen by the next stage of fertility doctors and my BMI is at the correct stage.
I have been put forward for weight loss surgery, but unfortunately I need to be approved for funding for that, which not being able to conceive isn't considered, and we are talking another 18 months at least for that.
I have always been a "big girl" and I don't look like a massive blob, as I am in proportion (as strange as it sounds). I have been told I may have PCOS but there is no definite diagnoses as my bloods are normal and the only other symptoms are I am not able to lose weight on my own easily, and one ovary is slightly enlarged.
I have started on Orlistat 2 weeks ago and have lost 3 KG's. I have also gone back to the gym and played tennis for an hour twice this week.
I am a bit stuck as to what else to try, I'd love to try the Cambridge diet or the other forms of diets but I just don't see if I could afford it, has anyone found any cheaper versions?
I am also concerned about the Cambridge diet that they may mess with your cycles as your body goes into shock etc.
Also if I try the Cambridge Diet and it works, and I lose say 6 stone, I put myself at risk then of not being able to get the other 4 off on my own and then missing out on the WLS.
The other thing is I could end up losing this 10 stone and putting my body through everything and then find out a) I can't get IVF etc and b) If I do it still might not work.
I think should I put myself through that all just for the selfish act of wanting a baby?
