Well if he is getting maintenance/loan and any bursary then add that all up. From the total take away his annual amount of rent, bills and essentials and then 15% of whatever is left. When I went to Uni I wouldn't think anything of spending at least £20 a week on nights out so the least you can reasonably expect is that.

no problem - I think students get the ''nil rate'' as they have no income technically. x
 
Started it up :) We sent £10 last week, £10 today. Decided not to do it as a DD, but what we can when we can. x
