Hi ladies. I had a scan at 9 wks 5 days today in HS and consultant said baby measuring at 10 weeks and has a physiological hernia where the bowel is growing outside the abdomen, into the umbilical cord. He said that while it isn't common, it won't be concerning if it 'pops back in' before 13 weeks. Such a fright to get and I am feeling so sad and worried.

Has anybody even heard of this before?

Thanks

Anne

Didn’t wanna read and just pass. Hugs mom I’m sure this is worrying, I’m only hearing about this now and sounds quite frightening. Hopefully it does resolve itself.

Hugs... this is something that is fixable if it doesn’t “pop back in” but I understand your worry. I really hope it fixes itself.

If it’s gastroschisis I’ve seen a few babies with it and they’ve had surgery a while after birth to pop It back in and have been fine.
