Hi,

My DD used to be a great eater and I was so pleased. I started with puree but very quickly moved to finger foods and for the last few months she has been feeding herself. I used to give her a loaded spoon for things like yoghurt and occasionally finished off by hand but recently she is completely refusing to take the spoon or let me feed her either (wouldnt mind not feeding if she took it).
She also used to eat pretty much anything but now she will swipe/drop loads on the floor without trying it, or will touch it and make a face and throw it :( esp if its wet or sticky like fruit/veg/ stew etc :( I am at my wits end with fruit and veg! She used to take fruit puree so i knew she got some but not anymore!
she loves to eat bready things like muffins and toast, she also loves meat and cheese so thats good but im worried about the veg. This morn she refused everything, even the hot cross bun  It has even got to the point, if i offer something she kind of gags! I dont know where it has come from, we never force it or anything.

Has anyone had the same thing? any advice on what to do? She is ok for weight etc so dont need to worry about that.

Also just in case you wondering her milk in take is all over the place too. I am trying to get her to drop the night feed so we are down to 90ml in the night (1 bottle), she had 170ml this morn (after trying to give brekkie) but she has been rejecting her afternoon bottle too but she will have a good bedtime one normally (200ml or so). I am planning on offering cows milk in a cup with her afternoon snack to see if that helps.

Thanks, sorry its long!

Around 11/12 months they just get fussy.. Its a stage I guess. My LO would eat everything when offered but he got to 11.5/12 months and everything was thrown at the dogs (they're happy! :haha:) he's getting a bit better now at 14 months but is still a little picky. We just ignore it, whatever he doesn't eat he makes up for it with milk as he's fed on demand. I think the most stressed/upset you get the more they feed off that and refuse even more.

If she likes muffins can you make a savory muffin with veg and cheese so its at least a healthy muffin? :)

Thank you for replying, yes I do make savoury muffins but i have only tried cheese and ham ones which she will eat anyway.
Tomorrow I am trying some veggie ones I have found...maybe with carrot and zucchini. wish me luck. :)
This evening i did manage to get her to have some yog by using a metal spoon and pretending it was mine :haha:

I'm so glad I've found this thread... I Came on here looking for advice on the same issue. My son is 11 months old and has suddenly become very picky too! I have no idea what to give him for breakfast as toast, cereal (with or without milk) and porage are all rejected. He also seems to hate most fruit or veg too. I am feeding him lots of yogurt and cheese and meat as he seems to like them. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with a fussy eater, I like the idea of veg muffins I'll try them. If anyone else has any advice please pass it along.

I could have written the above threads myself! I thought my 11.5 month old daughter had gone off my cooking!! She too has bottles all over the place, does the whole throwing the food at the dogs, this dinner she even refused to eat her yogurt!!! I'm just wondering whether i am giving her too much milk, she is on 3 X 7oz bottles per day. Also wondering if at meal times, if they refuse to eat what you have made them should we offer something else or just leave it at that and try not to make too much fuss??!

I am totally wondering the same thing. My DS has 4 bottles a day with 4oz in. I too am wondering if I should cut them down so he'll eat better.
