I will be 11 weeks tomorrow, have had wonderful check ups and my last one the HB was 156. I ordered the sonaline doppler to listen at home, I have been trying for a week and can only find my heartbeat in my belly! I have been watching YouTube videos to help guide me where I can maybe look but I am starting to become frustrated. I feel like if there are some women hearing them at 8/9 weeks then why can't I at 11? :( any advice??

Breathe and don't worry. Even doctors and nurses have problems sometimes up to 13/14 weeks, and some won't even try. It's totally normal. <3

most trained professionals cant pick one up until 16 weeks so i wouldn't worry yourself I am sure everything if fine x

Are you using plenty of gel? And pointing the probe downwards, towards your pubic bone?

I'm having trouble too, Same doppler.
Can't believe these women on the you tube videos that can find it perfectly at earlier than 9 weeks! unfair!

It's technique and position of baby. I found ds1 at 9w and ds2 at 7w!
You are probably moving it too fast or not looking low enough, it can be super tricky!

last pregnancy I was in at 13 weeks and they struggled finding it! They then did a scan and all was fine. It is difficult at this stage, so don't worry!

I have the same Doppler and first found it at 11ish weeks
It took 30-40 min because I wasn't looking low enough

No I find it within minutes usually. I use lots of gel and I find titling the probe down towards pubic bone works best

Also once I find placenta I slowly move probe and it's usually not far but slow movements are the trick esp if baby us super active like mine.

Gl xx

Sometimes I can't find my baby, either, and this is my second with the same Doppler!
Supposedly, it works best with a full bladder but I can only find bubs when I'm empty :dohh: I also have to be lying completely flat or I just cannot find it. All I can suggest is trying with a full bladder/bowels and then emptying. Try poking and angling the probe. Don't look at the display at all but hold it to your ear and listen out. I often find my baby next to (behind?) the slow whoosh whoosh sound. Sometimes I find it higher up, sometimes lower down but usually to the side and angling the probe towards the middle of my belly or my pubic area. I often poke it right into my flab...

Your still very early and baby is tiny, tucked under your pubic bone. Mid wife's don't always find heartbeats at 16 weeks because baby is still so tiny. Try not to worry to much Hun. I am sure baby is fine x
