12 week scan pic + when does first tri end?

So i went for my 12 week scan 2 days ago, and i wanted to post a pic.. this is the best one so , any guesses if it's a girl or boy? LO was jumping around, i love him/her so much im in love !



and just a question, alot of people say first tri ends at 12 weeks.. but i have a pregnancy book and it is considered 13 weeks there.
just wondering? thanks girls x

Aw soo cute I'm awful with the gender guess I thought I was having a girl all the way up until my gender ultrasound at week 20!

And I'm pretty sure 2nd tri starts at week 14.. if I remember correctly.

thanks bsd, thats what my pregnancy book says 13 or 14, i forget.. lol
and it looks like baby is sticking out his/her tongue dosent it? im trying to figure out if its a tongue !

Yes it does it probably is a tongue! that's so cute!
And thank you! I got so impatient to see what he's gonna look like I had to get one done.. my entire pregnancy I didn't want one and then all of a sudden (after watching national geographic in the womb) I just decided I wanted one, I was like 32 weeks!! You really only have until 35 because they run out of room and it gets hard to take a good photo.. it was so cool though!

Anyone else guesses? He's kind of curved so I don't know if you can see a nub? (See how I always refer as 'he' lol)
