14 week elective US was told girl but still unsure

Hi!! I'm new here, I had an elective ultrasound done at 14 weeks 4 days and the ultrasound technician said its girl but I still have this feeling that they may have been wrong I wanted to know if any of you ladies (or gents) can give your opinion about the shot the US tech got. I'm afraid to buy pink/blue and then go for 20 week scan and then it's opposite what I was told! Any help is appreciated!! Thank you!

I honestly would hold off until 20 weeks. It can still be a little hard to tell this early.

Wow, that IS a hard one! I would definitely hold off until 20 weeks because that doesn't look very "girly" to me. Usually a girl has three lines and boys have three circles in the beginning. Those definitely look more round to me! Of course it is hard to tell with certainty with that cord in the way...

I wouldn't go and buy pink just yet if I were you. Could easily go either way. Not the best shot.

Agreed! I thought that as well, it doesn't seem to be pointing to the nether region like at all.

The private place I went to refuses to do gender scans under 16 weeks though I know some places do it 13-14. But she said it's so inaccurate at that point, especially if you get a girl result. Guys it's easier to tell but even then sometimes it just takes longer or the wrong angle. I know a few women on here who were told girl at 16w then found out boy at their 20w scan. So I agree maybe hold off on buying stuff of hang on to the receipts

OMG I see what you mean, I think that IS a foot! Oh ok, so if it's a foot and you look further back to where the genital area is, I can't see anything protruding so it most likely is a girl but I still wouldn't buy anything pink just until it's confirmed at a later stage.

I will say that I had early scans with all 3 of mine: 15w, 12.5w,13.4w and all were right. Did you ask if you could get a confirmation since the picture isn't the best shot?
