Please can someone put my worrying mind at ease... So sorry for tmi...
I've been really constipated and about half an hour ago after straining some I managed to have a bm, but on wiping I noticed I'm bleeding, it's a little more than spotting in a jelly like cm... It's 100% from my vagina and not my bum. I've put a panty liner on and it doesn't feel as though there is anything on it.

I know this sounds strange to say but, it still could be from the back especially if you wiped front to back. There's a chance the discharge then mixed with blood from either a small tear or pile. If you're worried just give your midwife a call im sure they'll put your mind at ease. Constipation In pregnancy is just pants!

Any spotting after 12 weeks must be evaluated. Probably just from straining but could also be low lying placenta

It's definitely from the front as (very tmi), I kind of put the tip of my finger in with tp on it to make sure it was where it was coming from. I'm so embarrassed for oversharing but I'm so worried and it's 7pm here so it would be a+e or nothing.

Honestly if I was you would probably go to a&e, at least they will be able to put your mind at rest
Hope you are ok :hugs:

Don't be embarrassed our bodies are going through something huge! Do you have a number for triage? on my maternity notes their number is on a sticker which my midwife told me to use if I get bleeding / cramps / pain? But I'm not sure what your area is like?

I'm not in second tri yet, but almost there. I've been having this too. Definitely call your doc, for peace of mind at least. I've had it numerous times and nurse said it was probably from straining. I had an emergency u/s on Wed due to increased amount when going. Baby was just fine and doc didn't know what caused it. Hope this makes you feel a bit better.

I'll have a look but pretty sure she said only to use them after 20 weeks. Trouble is I have four other children and dh is on night shift, so have no one to look after them. F**k sake, nothing is easy:nope:

My dh just text me saying relax and keep an eye to it, have an early night and if it carries on we will go a&be, I feel like that's reasonable. So off to bed to probably worry all night :(

Yeah try not to worry, I'd be concerned if it was flowing but if you had to put your finger in to check it could just be from over straining. There's a ll the extra blood produced going to the uterus, you could be easily irritated down there. X

I had spotting around 14 weeks after dtd. It was a light amount and pink. I laid down soon after and it eased off after the next day. I never told my doc because I asked friends/researched and everything assured me it was all normal.

If it had continued or got heavier, or cramps associated too, I would have called.

I also had spotting again around 18 weeks because of a yeast infection (I didn't realize this was a symptom). I notified the doc only because it continued for the week that I used Monistat, which apparently is common...just nobody tells you lol

If it's RED and/or strong cramps def get seen, otherwise it's something I'd maybe mention at a routine checkup

I wanted to add another vote to the "probably nothing to worry about" column as long as it doesn't increase. Just due to the configuration of things "down there" if you pass an especially large or hard bm, it can cause some compression or bruising of the surrounding tissue. Since your rectum essentially passes right behind your vaginal canal and cervix, and your cervix is naturally more prone to bleeding during pregnancy, spotting can happen.

I hope it tapers off and doesn't doesn't return. You may want to talk to your doctor about taking a stool softener going forwards. Many are safe to use.

Thanks girls, well woke up this morning and not a spot of blood :)
I was constipated due to being on codeine (prescribed for migraines) this last week. Thank you for your kind words of wisdom though lol xxx

Good to hear! I've been hitting the Orange juice hard this time which seems to have helped me. :)

I've had this a few times this pg aswell as 2 bigger bleeds and i went to maternity hospital as ive had 2 mcs in the past and was very anxious. Ultrasound shows a subchorionic haematoma and that is what causes me to spot occasionally. Might be worth checking out or at least mentioning at next scan so they can be on the lookout.im rhesus neg so any bleeding from 11wks on means i need an anti-d/rhogam shot. If you don't know your blood type, make sure this isn't an issue.
