16 Week Gender Scan tomorrow how can I get baby to move?

Hi ladies.

I paid for a 16 week gender scan but the company never seem to be able to find out first time! Theres normally always an excuse ‘oh baby isn’t very active/ oh baby cord is in the way! I know you cant help positioning but id really like to know so I am wondering what I should eat drink to get baby moving! xx

I've always heard a cold juice can help to get baby moving.

I had cold orange juice 30 min before appointment, baby seemed to be relaxed, but moved around something cold and sweet!

Something with sugar. Last time I drank a little bit of gatorate but what I read suggested to have a chocolate minutes before. Anyway the result was that my baby was moving but I could not know the gender of course because I was only 14w. GL!

I had some chocolate milk before scan and baby was kicking around.good luck with scan x

I always went loo before and then just when we were called in had a cold drink from fridge or even a sugary one just as a back up

If everyone is saying it maybe it's their equipment or technicians rather than the babies?! But yeah I agree I cold drink etc. the baby was really awkward at my gender scan, would not move into position at all but but the technician just got me to lift my pelvis up and wriggle around and that got baby moving into the right position.

I do ice water or cold OJ before the appt and she's sure to be wiggling! Good luck

I have a very uncooperative baby, my nt scan took 30 mins to get her in a good position. Then she hid her junk at my gender scan so I had to go back after getting lunch, at which point it took her about 20 minutes to stop constantly wiggling so they could get a proper look!

Similarly she was lying in an awkward position at my 20w scan an it took ages to do all the checks.

At all my scans I have had to raise my hips off the table and swing them around to try to move baby, my one reacts a lot to food and drink which actually makes it harder. Good luck!

If it's private, do they not offer free re-scan if they can't see..? I thought most private companies did that.

Yeah they should do I no who I am going threw they do, the amount you pay for it I should hope so 😄 and thank you!! Hoping blue this time but I really don't mind haha x

Definitely a cold drink but nothing fizzy as this can reduce the quality of the picture. Good luck x
