16DPO (I think) - BFN and brown discharge?

First month TTC... we had sex on the 3rd and according to my app I ovulated on the 4th-ish. I'm still new to all of this so I am only going off my period tracker app.

AF is due today but I am not having any of my usual symptoms. My periods are very regular (heavy cramps night before and I wake up and AF has arrived in full force but that is it. It's usually very heavy from the start - bright red - then slowly gets less heavy as the days go on)

However, I went to the loo about half an hour ago and saw a little bit of brown discharge? I have never had this before so I am a bit confused. Is this implantation? From what I thought it would be too late for IB. I've never been pregnant before so this is new.

I did a FRER test this morning and it was negative but the one (and only) line was very faint? I'm so confused...

Still no sign of AF. Not had any more brown discharge since I posted this but I'm so close to reading my hair out! It's driving me crazy.
