My baby is just 16 weeks old. Im breastfeeding her myself exclusively but recently shes started watching me and getting excited when im eating. Is it ok to feed her normally?
she wont eat baby porridge or baby custard but lokes mashed potato and sucking on a plain biscuit. Im surprised at howcwell she is at chewing! I have a 2 year old boy who is a struggle to get him to eat anything at all.

If you can I would wait a few more weeks. Babies digestive systems are not ready for solids at that age. Babies will always show interest in your food but that doesnt mean they should have it. My one year old sees me eating sweets and wants them. He doesnt get them.

Don't give anything before 17 weeks. After this it's up to you. I started at 20 weeks but you can only give certain things until they get to 6 months

A baby really shouldn't be having any solids at that age. It's not recommended until at least 17 weeks and even then it should only be done with extreme caution and if it's unavoidable. I would wait as long as you can. Babies want the food we eat simply because they want anything we have, it looks interesting to them and at that age they are exploring their surroundings a lot. If you really want to start solids at 17 weeks I would advise you to do a lot of research to find out what you can and can't give them but it's my belief that at that age they can only have baby rice.

I would call her doctor and ask what they recommend based on their personal knowledge of her. Evie's doctor told me to start her on rice cereal and then move onto veggies and fruits in the baby jars at about that age. :)
