im 17 and missed a 5 pills,had un protected sex wen i missed them this was around 2 weeks ago.ive missed up to 3 pills b4 and never got pregnant.i was due to start takin them and relalised id ran out so had to buk an apoointment which took days. ive carried on taking them after my one week period break and the extra 5 days un protected, and think tht this tym its got me and tht i may b pregnant ive got tht metal taste and yesterday i woke up with a terrible migrane feelin sik and throughout the day my body temperature sky rocketted. i av felt realli tired like all i wanna do is sleep, and i had a metal like taste in my mouth today is this to early cuz it b jus coinsidence ??? xxx

Hey hon I can't understand whats happening a lil.Im a lil confused but I'll try my best..You have to take a pregnancy test 1st..then we will go from there..But if you even miss one pill you can get pregnant birth control is only 99.9% accurate so missing a pill drops it down..Good luck

Because,you can test around the time it's due.Even though,irregular pill taking can mess up your cycle a bit.
So,wait a while before you test.

Just a word of advice.
It's important that you don't miss your pills,because chances of getting pregnant will drastically increase!

Well obviously there is a possibility that you're pregnant. The pill is something like 99% effective - if taken correctly apparently. However, many women have also gotten pregnant on the pill - without missing one!

It may be, though, that your cycle is all messed up because you've missed pills, then took them etc. This happened to me before, and I too, had a million and one symptoms.. and then my period showed - late. A lot of it could be down to your imagination - i know that sounds crazy, but if you do worry about something, or obsess over it a lot, you will start to imagine symptoms and convince yourself stupid that you're pregnant. "Mind over matter", and all.

I would suggest -whenever your period is due, and if it is late- that you take a pregnancy test to put your mind at ease. Then, move on from there, whatever the result.

I'm really confused, but as you have missed ur pills and had unprotected sex, there is a chance that u are pregnant. Your symptoms def sound like prgnancy symptoms. But then missing the pill will probs mess ur cycle up anyway which could cause all those symptoms. I'd test! maybe wait a week or so, or when ur period is due. Then you will know for sure.

Agreeing with the others, if you have unprotected sex you coudl definitely be pregnant. Have you missed your period, is it late, how late?

For sure, as suggested, take a pregnancy test and you'll know for sure.

I agree they sound like pregnancy symptons but then your pill taken unregularly can mess your cycle up so who knows!!

Wen i first started the pill like years ago lol i had to try it for 3 months to see if it suited me, it did so i continued to take it after 6-9 months on the pill i had to come off it because of problems i wasnt having sex anyway so it didnt matter, but it messed my body up i didnt have a period for 4 months and i felt constantly sick, which left a nasty taste in my mouth, so it could be the effects of missing ur pill tht are making u feel like this. The only way to know for sure is to test tho hun.

basically on my 7 day break from my pill i had a 12 day break because i had to get a repeat prescription from the doctors and it was takin the piss. the pill onli protects u for those 7 days sooo those other 5 days on top of the seven i was aving sex with no pill protectin me and no contraception xxx

Well its still kinda unlikely that you will be pregnant but you need to take a test around about when your next break is, its the only way you'll know. I was pretty shit at taking the pill (hence being pregnant ) and there are girls on here that have taken the pill properly and still fallen pregnant. So all you can do is take a test Good Luck!!

Hi sweetie,

Just to give you a different perspective, i suffer badly with aneamia. From the symptoms you described, i think it could be too early for them to be pregnancy symptoms so soon. I would perhaps look down a different route until it is time to test. The metal taste in your mouth plus the tierdness is classic sign of aneamia, especially whenyou have just had your period.

I never had a metal taste, but those other symptoms are the reason i knew i was pregnant before I tested. I'd go grab urself a test hun!

Still very early to get symptoms, as the HCG levels would still be very low (although some do get symptoms). Also a week before you are due might be to early to test.

You need to test and get a postive result before you start tking in the full implictions of this for you.

When I was on the pill I missed a whole month once and wasn't pregnant It's also worth considering that when trying to concinve, after being on the pill, most couples are advised that it could take up to a year to get the pill out of thier systems.
