17dpo and AFRAID TO TEST!!!

Hi ladies,

I really need help I am 17 DPO today and I am afraid to test!!! I thought that I was out this month for sure but then when I thought AF had started, instead I just got a lot of watery cm on tp. And when I checked my cervix it was high, closed, and felt like a soft marshmallow. That is when I realized that I may still be in the game, so now that my period is 3 days late I am freaking out . The longest cycle I have ever had was 41 days, I had BFNs @ 12,14, & 15dpo so I am trying to wait to test again because I'm afraid to feel gutted once more. Please tell me what you guys think!!!!!

Aww I know what you mean, the TWW is really hard and you can't wait to test until it's time and then you're afraid, I get that too, like before I test I could still be pregnant and not know it, but when you see that negative it's crushing.

But you're still not out until you get your period!!

Overcaffein8d, I was like you. Sometimes my cycles were normal (28 days) and sometimes they were long (40 days). In August I was on CD 38 when DH forced me to POAS. I was 100% sure it would be a BFN and explained to him I must have O'd late and this was another one of those long, 40 day cycles.

Well, I was wrong. It was a BFP. I told DH the other day, I wonder how long I would have waited before testing if he had not pressured me. I think even if I was on CD 50 I would have been "so sure" AF was right around the corner.

So glad I was wrong!

I broke down and tested this evening...bfn again. My heart is breaking. I had an ici on Oct 4th and unlike many of the stories I've read where O may have been miscalculated resulting in a late period, I am sure I will be 18dpo tomorrow and either my insemination worked or it didn't ...there was no other BDing. It just seems so unlikely that I could be pg without a positive hcg at this point. But then, I know I ovulated, so where is the if I'm not?? Confused, frustrated, & deflated! Just want to know one way or another at this point! Thank you ladies for your kind support, I will keep you posted.

Confusing I read somewhere that 18 dpo was as good as a BFP, due to the lutal phase being so fixed around 14 days. And that was on some medical report.

So my initial thought would be you ovulated later than you thought or that BFP is just taking its time, test again tomorrow.

So, I went ahead and scheduled a blood test for the 25th (earliest avail), so I should know something definitively soon. In the meantime, I thought I'd see what you ladies make of this ...

I had my LH surge on Oct 3rd and ovulated the evening of Oct 4 (O pain and bbt confirmed) however after nine days of complete negatives following O I had another LH surge. I charted for more than a year before ttc and always take a Lh test daily from cd 10 until AF shows to make sure I pinpoint ovulation. But this cycle I am now 18dpo and have tested Lh positive every day since 9dpo. I have never had this happen before! Im having plenty of symptoms that could indicate a pregnancy but as pms and early pregnancy are so similar I am trying not to drive myself nuts over-analyzing. I took hpts @ 12,14, 15, & 17dpo all BFN. Now AF is 5 days late...I am still getting +Lh...I'm afraid to hope and I feel like I'm going crazy!!! Anyone have any insight?? NOTE: I do not have pcos, and each test result --during the testing period-- was either the same color or darker than the control line (despite how it may look in the photo)...what do you think??

LH tests are positive when you're pregnant. And 18 DPO is indeed as good as pregnant.

Maybe time to try a different brand of pregnancy test?

Don't know which would show up first. But it wouldn't be the first time where there's something wrong with someone's pregnancy test, that's why I suggested trying a different brand.
