17lb 4 month old! Anyone else?!

Hi!

My son went to the doctor and had his check up. My breastfed baby weighs 17lbs.... holy cow! They say that is defiantly higher than normal but since it's breast milk it is ok... but still!

My mom thinks I should not feed him as much. Uh...I'm sorry I cannot starve my baby! If he is hungry...give him the boob... will he start thinning out some once he starts crawling you think?

He'll definitely start thinning out once he starts crawling/walking And I agree with you (Hannah was FF but I'd never have not fed her if she was hungry )

I have a 16lbs 3 month old - I've been told that he'll stop gaining weight as quickly once he starts moving around he eats when he's hungry (which yes, is frequent - but he's a big boy!), and he's healthy - that's all that matters

Claire wasn't BF, but she weighed 20lbs at 6 months of age (well over the 100th percentile). At 9 months she weighed 24lbs which was again over the 100th percentile.

Once she started walking she thinned out quite a bit. She weighs the same today at 16 months as she did when she was 9 months. My doctor said that if she was under the 100th percentile that'd be a cause for concern, but because she was over it was fine.

I agonized about Claire's weight, I can totally understand not being sure!

My 2 month old already weighs 13 lbs or maybe even more than that by now so I think he is well on his way to being a 17 pounder by 4 months!!! My guy is also a big boy and I also feed him when he's hungry...We just have future football players!!!

When i was born I was 10lbs 3oz at 6 months I was 25lbs and was strictly breastfed. haha. They told my mother not to feed me but as soon as i was crawling and walking I thinned a bit.

at 12 weeks Kailee weighs 15 lbs 6 oz. only breastfed

Man! I'm glad I'm not the only one! I was getting worried I was feeding too often! He goes about every 3 hours or so... bless his little heart. Then at night he will go down at 9 or 10 and sleep until 9 or so in the morning with one feed in between. My doctor said to stop feeding him at night,...but I like the cuddle time

La was almost 18lb at 4 months... she doubled her birthweight early on. Go, booby juice!!!

Yup, I've got a chunky here too - 16lbs 11oz at 18 weeks. All booby juice. Methinks I've double cream in those jugs!
