18mo waking at the same time every night

Help!
Rio has always been a great sleeper. He was in his own room in a great routine until his dad moved out and I stupidly put him in my bed so we could both have a bit of company. Routine stayed fine though, he has still slept through no problems.
I know I'll strugle to get him out but I'm going to try that after xmas now. It's not an issue to me I love having him close.

However, the past week or so, he has started waking up and crying at around the same time every night! Usually around 10 past 12. I'm still up at this time most nights, and I think that may be the problem. On the odd night im in bed, he doesn't seem to wake.
Could it be because I'm not there, so he freaks out?
What can I do!! It takes him about 30-40 mins to go back to sleep again after he has woke up crying so I'm hardly getting done what I need to after he's gone to bed because by then I'm tired too.

Has anyone else been through this and have anything to suggest? I just find it odd that it's at the same time every night x

My SIL's little boy did the same at that age. Someone recommended that she gently wake him a bit before he wakes himself. So she would go in to his room, turn him over in bed and then leave. Apparently a couple if nights of that broke the cycle. I never tried it, but I'm sure something so simple is worth a go.

Don't stress about the cosleeping, they grow out of it and it's nice to have them near
