1ST Fertitly appointment... what to expect??

hi My First Noodle - i am also being referred to Northwick Park Hospital, living in Harrow
my doctor is GP Direct - i went on 28th Dec when i was told they would write a referral letter - phoned to chase today and she forgot to write.........
anyway moving on from that, how long did you wait for your appointment????
we have had bloods, SA and i am waiting for an internal scan

Hiya Hun. I live in Harrow too. I was told on the 30th of December the day I got the results for my hormone test from my GP (Grove medical centre in Northolt) She would write a referral for me. I had my appointment for 17th of January...so didnt wait that long.
I had an internal scan in novemeber because I had an abnormal smear in July as I had bleeding after sex which showed I had the HPV virus so had colposcopy done. Didn't show cancerous cells though as it was caught early thank god. I had colposcopy done in northwick park and an internal scan in central middlesex (As it hurt to have sex so was being checked out b two hospitals) whilst having my internal in central middlesex they checked my ovaries to which was handy because now my FS doesnt need to send me for those test.
After my internal at central middlesex hospital I went back to my doctors and told her now my smear is sorted I want to start on fertility treatment...so in December she done hormone bloods for me which showed ok and advised my DF to have a sperm analysis done. When the results came back for my hormones thats when she reffered me.
So its happened quite quickly. I see DR PRIDDY in Northwick park....I saw him on Tuesday and he was lovely. My next appointment with him is in April...unless I get my HSG test (xray of my womb and tubes) done sooner, then I can pull forward my appointment. Just praying for my period now so I can book my xray!!

hi, I just wanted to give a quick update- saw the FS today and they gave me clomid there and then, i was so happy and excited to finally be getting somewhere- They gave me some tabs to bring a bleed on so now just waiting for that. Thanks for all your help everyone x

Fab news! Sounds like your appointment was very similar to mine! Fingers crossed for BFPs for both of us very soon!! How are they going to monitor the clomid? What days are you taking it?? xx

well they have given me norethisterone to start a period, they then said to ring on day one of when i start to bleed to book a scan for 12 days later to make sure I'm ovulating ( though this will be the only scan i get ) also Once i start A/F i have been told to start taking clomid from days 2-6 then stop. Is that the same with you? Also just wanted to say we was worried that morphology might be a problem as it was only 4% but then said that was absolutly fine and this would not be a problem at all and its not what they look for as everything else was fine so very relived. where a bouts are you in your cycle. have u started ur clomid-how did you feel? x

I was given provera to bring on a period. I took 10mg twice a day for seven days and took last pill on wed night. Been spotting since sat but not properly started yet which is a bit frustrating but feel like it will arrive soon. Then I have to take Clomid 50mg days 3-7. Not looking forward to starting the clomid as the provera made me a bit crazy and was in a horrendous mood for a few days last week. Thankfully feeling a bit better now lol. I wont have any scans to track they are monitoring me through urine testing. I take a sample of first morning urine the day after my period finishes and then once a week for four weeks then hand the samples in. I have to freeze the samples to keep them fresh LOL! How you feeling about taking the clomid? Also I am going to be using preseed I ordered some off amazon as apparently clomid can dry up CM and want to have the best chance possible. Be good to keep in touch as we are both starting at the same time!! x

Hi ladies.
I had my FS appt today. He was happy with my bloods as they show i ovulate and partners SA. So the next step for us is a hsg which I have to phone up for on the first day of my next cycle. I then have a follow up appt in may.
I asked what they could do if my tubes were blocked etc, but I didnt ask what they would if all is ok.
Any ideas?

Hello I'm pretty new to this site I've been just sitting back and reading up to now and seen some good advice so thought id ask for some of my own? I've recently been for my 1st appointment with dr adbage (know I've spelt that wrong) but he was very positive that he could help myself and my
Husband we've been ttc for almost 4 years but no avail for anything happening, we've been for all the blood work and also the semen analysis. I'm just wondering what happens now. As we're very keen to get the ball rolling with this.

Dh is about to see his GP to request an Sa, do any of you know if this is done in house or does he get referred to a FS and then the waiting continues?
I've heard of really long wait list for specialists and I'm hoping this isn't the case?

Would appreciate any feedback!
