Hi ladies,

well finally after 2 years TTC my doc refereed me to a fertility specialist, so just waiting for that appointment. Basically i have mild PCO ( Bloods, Bmi fine, i just have cysts on one side and no period since last feb) My hubby has had SA twice, everything was okish though the morphology was quite low ( 4% and 2% but everything else fine) what happens at your first FS appointment, im hoping they will give me clomid, do you think they will?? Though im confused as the how i would take it, as i read you start on a certain day of your A/F but i dont have any?? and i read some people get scans some dont?? we already have a 3 year old that we naturally conceived after 5 years of TTC so if clomid doesn't work i dont think the NHS will give us anything else. any advise on first FS appointment and clomid will be much appericated x

Hi Jen.

At my first fs appointment they basically took my history, repeated bloods that my go had done and also arranged for an hsg to make sure that my tubes weren't blocked. (everything was normal, been ttc for over a year and neither of us have had a kid before).

On the second appointment, I got all my results and prescribed chlomid. 50mg days 2-6. I couldn't wait to start! Unfortunately af didn't come (it ranged from anywhere up to alomst five months). In the end the fs prescribed me provera which basically forces you to have a period. Provided you have a good bleed you can then start chlomid.

That's my story anyways. I hope it helps. I had around 3 months between my appointments, but again that was because I had to wait fir af before they could do the hsg.

Good luck. X

hi many thanks for getting back to me, do you think they will make me wait for my period, as the last one was in febuary, so could be in for a long wait lol or will they give me some tabs to start it? I only had my bloods done just before xmas will they still repeat them. Good luck to you hun... babydust :) xx

I would explain how infrequent your periods are, and then hopefully they will give you something.

I had only just had my bloods done too. but I think the fs just wanted to be really thorough. All I would say is just be prepared for a bit of a wait. I was really lucky with mine, but I know it depends on what your PCT is like.
