Hello everyone I hope everyone is okay I have a question I am just looking for my mind to be put at rest I am sooo worried about this baby every cramp twinge or anything I am panicing I wish I could stop worrying and enjoy it so anyway getting to my point sorry for stalling my first scan is on the 24th Feb which now seems like a lifetime away but I meet with my midwife on the 30th Jan is there anything that I can ask her to do to put my mind at rest ?

A close family friend said that she might try and listen to the heart beat or I could ask her if she can but as I will only be 9 weeks then I am a bit unsure if there will be anything she can do

Just looking for any advise so I can stop worrying my little head

Thanks for reading x

You could ask to hear the heartbeat although its possible they won't be able to hear it, in which case you'll just freak yourself out more! You're going to have to get used to the worry, you'll be worrying your entire pregnancy and then for the following 18+ years lol

Everyone gets worried when they're pregnant, it's normal. You might not be able to listen to the heartbeat, where I am they won't try and hear it until 24 weeks because there's only a 50% chance you'll hear it as the baby is still small and you'd just worry. And this is what I was told when I was 17 weeks pregnant.

When you see her just tell her your worries and unless you have obvious signs something is wrong, try and enjoy your pregnancy. Take any symptoms you have as a good sign.

Well they'll possible try to hear the heartbeat, but some people can't hear it till later on, some hear it earlier.

Just try and relax though hun. I didn't hear my little mans hb till 13 weeks, and he's perfectly fine Your doctors will let you know if they think anything is wrong. So just try and calm down, relax, and enjoy being pregnant! Worrying about every little thing takes away from the joy of knowing you have a LO growing in there!

You can always pm me if you need anything hun. :hugs:

Oh and congrats on your pregnancy!

mine just took a urine test, blood test, weighed me, wrote down all my family genetic history and such.. and spent a good 15-20 minutes talking about general pregnancy things.. then we made my ultrasound appointment for the next day.

Mine did urine test, blood tests, worked out dates.. then we spoke about family history so they can work out your risk..
I duno where you're from but in the UK they wont listen with a doppler until 15wks..

Also your cramps and twinges are probably just your uterus stretching and getting used to there being a baby in there..
Aslong as you're not bleeding then try not to worry x

Thank you everyone I am just going to relax and take it easy and wait until I see the midwife Im sure if there is any need for me to worry in the meantime I will know.

Thanks again everyone I hope everyone is well x
