1st OB visit - too early to ask about C-Section?

My DD was born 2 weeks early, suffered shoulder dystocia and was shoved back into me TWICE, so her head passed my pubic bone a total of 5 times. We were both badly broken and I was told I would never deliver vaginally again. (Who would want to after that?!?!) She was also 12lbs, if that matters.

Anyway, tomorrow is my 1st OB visit with this pregnancy (I've already been in the hospital twice b/c of high BP and bleeding, but seem okay and ultrasounds were good.) and I want to ask a lot of things up front. My question is, is it too early to ask about a c-section? I don't need it scheduled yet obviously, but I do need to know that this doctor is on the same page and is not going to take any chances. I am classified high risk this time, so maybe they'll naturally be more careful?

What all would you ask on the first visit? Also, is it too early to sign release forms so they can get my records and my daughter's NICU records? I was never allowed to see the hospital records of that night, but if you look up 'zavanelli maneuver' it gives you the dry version of the horror that happened.

I am high risk as well, Im listed a a "failure to progress" awesome title huh? I dont think its to early at all, I will be going to my first OB appt for this pregnancy and I will be getting a c-section for this one as well. If I would have had an competent OB the first time we wouldnt have had problems too. This is your pregnancy YOu body and YOUr baby! always demand the best and if its a c-section its your right to ask for it hun! :)

So I know more people who schedule first baby c-sections in the first trimester (for no health reasons what so ever) than people who honestly had to have them so I don't see any harm in mentioning that you would prefer/be interested in one.

I don't see why not  in the very least, your ob/gyn will probably give you the run down of how it would work and whatnot

Had a good visit today and they have some of and are getting the rest of my doctor/hospital records so they saw that I was blown all to bits by my vaginal birth last time. (Doctor shoved her back in me twice, tore me all the way up into my V up to my uterus and then reached in up to his elbows and tore out the placenta manually.)

They agree that I am a flat-out c section this time due to health risks, and are going to be way more careful about this pregnancy in general. I am so relieved!

Holy cow, chimchims. I don't know if I'd be willing to have another baby after all of that. Please do be upfront with your OB and tell them what you want and don't want. I wish you a very happy and healthy pregnancy, labor and birth!

Somehow my pregnancy brain didn't get me back on here to reply. lol Anyway, I am 20 weeks today and having a girl! Yay! :)

I was classified high risk, so I see four different people for different aspects of my care, and our OB is so on top of things, I can't even believe it! I've already had five ultrasounds, with many more in the future (to monitor baby size). The next one will be done by a cardiologist to check for heart defects (holes in the heart run in DH's family).

The plan of now is for me to be delivered via c-section at 38 weeks, due to my insulin dependence. I went into early labor at 36 weeks with DD and was pre-hypertensive (which my BP is already up from what it should be). So far everything looks perfect with the baby, so all the stuff I'm doing all day long (pills, shots, rest, drs every week) is paying off! Yay! :) How are you girls doing?
