Hubby and I have been TTC for about 8 months now. I got off the pill and hadn't had AF since, until the beginning of June. After visiting the dr a few times, he prescribed 50 mg of Clomid. I took it CD 3-7, and started OPK's a few days later only once a day. They have all been super faint until last night (CD16), when it wasn't quite positive but much darker than the rest have been. I test at the same time every day, and hold it in for about 3 hours before taking it. I tested this morning and today at my normal time and no line at all.

Today I've had dull cramping/bloating all day long, and occasional twinges on my left side. The cramping is worse when I go to the bathroom. Also, the last 2 days we've BD'd, I've felt a good amount of pressure on my left side.

I'm so confused - it's super frustrating since I haven't O'd in so long I have no idea what it feels like or how long my cycles might be...so there's no frame of reference at all.

Do people usually have pain before or after they O on Clomid? What do you think? I know it's possible that it's a cyst, just curious if anyone else has had similar experiences that ended with a BFP?

I took clomid 50 mg this cycle first time from CD3-7 and ovulated on CD 17.
I got a positive the night of CD16 that's when the surge started. I had tested 3 times that day. At 5 pm it looked like it was getting darker but not yet positive so I took another at 10 pm and it was positive and stayed positive to the next day.
24 hrs after the surge, I had a lot of pain in both my ovaries and was sooooo bloated. The pain stopes before I went to sleep. My temp started increasing and 3 days later i had a scan and doctor confirmed ovulation. I usually O on my own but in the CD20-24 time which I was unhappy with because the egg wouldn't be that great and it would take forever to get my BFP. It's only my 5th month TTC my first.
Some people have ovulation pain with and without clomid.
Some people get close to a positive but it never becomes a true positive but they actually have surged. I'd say keep using LH tests for a few more days to be on the safe side.

If you are taking your temp that should tell you if you have ovulated or not. On the other hand if your really curious about whether or not you ovulated, go to your doctor and request an ultrasound. If you know they don't do it that easily, say your having a lot of ovary pain.

Btw, how old are you? We are both early clomid users it seems. I'm 23.

Thanks for the info! I'm actually 28. I've been taking opk's every day since then and there has been no line on any of them at all. I haven't been temping this time around, but if there's no BFP I'll try it next month so I can know for sure. I still have a little sensitivity on my left side - but not as bad as it was. I'm really hoping I just caught the tail end of my surge and it actually happened. I'm on CD21 now, and (tmi) but my cm is dry and sticky now, where as last week it was much more fertile looking. Hoping that's a good sign that I did ovulate and I'm getting ready to either get AF or that BFP! I'll definitely try to get an u/s next month if it doesn't work!

Sounds like from your CM that you did ovulate. Charting BBT is really the best way to confirm (other than ultrasound). It is a very good tool.

Yea it's clear from your CM that you did ovulate. Hope you caught the egg! I would suggest taking your temp till 3 days of high temps and then leave it if you don't want the added stress of temping and overanalyzing every little pattern.

Good luck hope you get your BFP this cycle!
