I went to the ER for adominal pain and it turns out i hav a subchorionic hemorrhage. tht worries me but the ultrasound report also says my cervix is 2.5cm. I thought tht sounded rly short. I had a LEEP done is 2009 and with my daughter my cervix was checked but the shortest it got before 36 weeks was almost 4cm. This is much shorter and earlier on. Whats going on with my body and my baby? Im scared to death and my OB acts lik they dont hav a clue on what to do. They said they wouldnt even check my length til 15 weeks. Thank God i went to the ER. Im sore and worried! And i keep posting things cuz it seems like one thing after another is going wrong with this pregnancy!

As far as your cervix goes, 2.5cm is on the short side (not a huge issue unless the length gets below 2.5). That said, since you are only 7 weeks, it's safe to say that your short cervix is not due to your baby. Your baby is way too small right now to have any affect on the cervix. Weak cervixes don't start to weaken and shorten (due to Incompetent Cervix, at least) until around 15-16 weeks when the baby starts to put on weight. (Which may be why they won't measure your cervix until around then.)

It also depends on how you got your cervix measured. If it was measured abdominally (like a normal ultrasound), those are not accurate. You can only get an accurate cervical measurement transvaginally. That said, your cervix could be short and continue to get short because of your surgery and your last birth. I would make sure doctor's keep a very close eye on it and look into getting a cerclage around 12-14 weeks. Good luck!!

I was 2.7cm at 7weeks I'm 1.7cm and they still don't seem to bothered. I get measured every four weeks and that's it. I had leep done two years ago and a cone biopsy and leep done 9years ago.

I'd push to have a stitch, its not painful at all and has kept my baby in so far.
