#2 Clomid starting today

Hi there,

Im starting my second round of clomid today and wondering if anyone is in the same position?
I Ovulated on the first round (cd17) and bloods confirmed it, but no bfp. I have high hopes for round 2, but am also going to try to be a little more relaxed about the whole thing if I can. Maybe thinking about it ALL the time isnt helping!

Any round 2 buddies out there??

Yay!!!!!!! So excited I found u! Exact same boat! We even had the same ovulation day last cycle! I'm curently on cd6 and day 2 of clomid cycle #2.

Hey there! I'm on CD12, and my opks are looking darker today, so really hoping for CD14! That would give me a "normal" cycle. Feeling very impatient right now. How are u finding the Clomid?

I'm just now in cycle 2 but so far so good. I havnt had any side effects this time. I have been taking them at night. I read on here that it helps. Last cycle I didn't have any either. Or maybe I did. I got sick at the exact time I was taking them with sinus funk. So who knows! How have you been liking it?

I'm the same, took them at night both months so had very few effects. Some hot flushes, and moodiness but the moodiness could just have been me!

I have such high hopes for round 2. Il be crushed if its neg again. You haven't been ttc long, how come you started with Clomid so early?

You aren't the first to ask. Because of this it makes me wonder why myself. I'm curious if it's different outside of the us.

So about me, my husband and I had a certain month and year we were gonna start ttc. We knew for years. My obgyn has been with me since 2008. She knows my history and knew when we wanted to have the kid. We wanna give birth in 2013 late or early 2014. Soo my history is started my period at 13 I immediately started skipping months (my mom did the same thing). Bc at age 18 to help regulate me ( and protect from the sex I was about to start having with the bf). I had a period every month from then on. I got of bc 2 years ago. Husband always uses condoms. Since I got off bc I went back to skipping many months. I brought this to the attention of my obgyn and she proscribed provera to take every 60 days to flush out my lining. She said it can become cancerous if left in. She also said years ago that I would be taking clomid when we is decide to start trying because my cycles were crazy long and I seldomly dropped eggs. My mother went through fertility issues as well so I've always feared it. Maybe her history concerned the dr too? Anyways I also did like 7 different blood tests in November and my husband did a SA. Everything came back great. So it seems that my issue is just getting me to ovulate monthly. I Ovulated the first month so she kept me at the same dose. I'm hoping that's all there is to it!

My guess from all that is that they already knew that ovulation was the poblem so there was no point hanging around to "try" you on clomid. They just started with a higher dose. Its a good thing really.
We started trying August last year, and knew for quiet some time beforehand that august was when we wanted to start. I feel privilaged in a way to be able to plan like this and do it exactly how we want. that said I would like to have been pregnant by now!

So I got my +opk yesteday. Spot on cd14, which is exactly what I was hoping for. Im thrilled! cd15 today and still getting postives, so a nice long surge too, which I never had before. Clomid is doing its job!

We bd cd11, 13,14,15 and possibly 16 (we'll see how we feel tomorrow) so we really are covered. Im so excited and optimistic about this month! We're both really looking forward to going back to having sex when we WANT to, not when we HAVE to!!

Thank you for that. I LOVE hearing success stories. I believe being positive is very important, so when I start to feel down I search for success stories to try bring me back up! I O'd on round 1 but on cd17. This month I O'd cd14 (yesterday) so really hoping this is it now!! thanks again!

AFM my month has been pretty slow! Last night I finished clomid. Tomorrow I start using OPKs. Im gonna start using the strips. I only have a few digital ones left and I'm gonna use those to confirm +. I know we will bd Saturday and Sunday and then we will play it by ear. I'll wait on the cm and opk. Ya know my dr told me to bd for 3 days once I get a positive! I feel like its not enough! That's me being anxious and controlling though!

Also is anyone doing their temps? I dont know when to start taking my temp either. Oh yea im on cd2 and doing the chlomid on cycle days 5-9. Any advice is wanted and very much appreciated.

Hi there :wave:

I dont temp, but I know from talking to other ladies you need to temp from cd1. It will be one or 2 months before the temps are properly usseful as you need to compare months. Apparently fertility friend website gives tutorials on temping and charting. As I said, I dont do it myself though.

As for opks, I would start cd10, and stay going until you ovulate. You def need to test in the am and in the pm. You can get a complete neg in the am and ovulate in the pm, this is exactly what happened to me yesterday! Also you might only have a 12 hour surge, so if you only test once per day you could miss it altogether!!

Another word of advise is to take the clomid at night. That way youll sleep through any side effects
