Hey there, just want peoples opinions. I woke up fine yesterday morning, then out of no where came a really bad back ache. No matter what i did, sat, stood up or lay down it wouldnt shift. My MIL said it might be very early labour. Had an achey back all day! I went to bed last night and the pain was occasionally moving round to the front of my tummy so i thought maybe labour was on its way.

Woke up this morning and pain in back is still there, but not round the front. Anyway, im just worried now something is wrong, and maybe the pain is babys way of telling me there is something wrong. I dont know what could be wrong, but ive never had constant back ache like this before. Is it probably just early labour or could my little princess be trying to tell me something?!? Sorry i know it sounds daft, but im just so worried, i feel like im out of control while she is still i there and i can protect her :(

Edited to add something else im worried about, didnt want to start 2 threads.

At my 20 week scan, my baby didnt move very much on screen. The sonographer said all seemed fine, she was probably just a laid back baby, and ever since then, i have felt her moving, but not as much as i did my other two, but just thought thats just how she is. Anyway, since 28 weeks my bump size was always measuring 2 weeks ahead, until my 38 week apointment. At 35 weeks she was measuring 37, at 37 she was measuring 37 and at 39 she was measuring 38. I didnt know this until i looked in my notes as midwife didnt mention it to me. im just worried that since 35 weeks she has only grown 1 week. My other 2 babys were both 9lbers so im worried . I know fundal hight isnt 100% accurate, but coupled with the not moving so much (when she does move its strong, just not very often) and the measuring small, something is wrong. I dont want to bother the midwives with something they will probably think is trivial as they didnt even mention it at my appointment, but what if something is wrong :(

Really sorry to be so depressing, just wanted some reasurance really x

I get that too but I have no clue if it's early labour or not :( I keep getting excited for no reason!

Aww gosh i bet you are feeling fed up, I hope your baby comes soon. Im finding my =self getting very jealous of people who arent due who are having there babies early haha, all mine now have been overdue :(

Oh god yeh lol I hate them at the moment, in fact I hate everyone at the moment lol got a sweep in less than a hour eak!

My last labour was all in my back. Although I was induced, I remember it started off like bad period pains.

Re fundal height, I was told by my m/w that this can look like it is falling behind as baby's head engages, so it's probably completely normal. Also, i know from experience how inaccurate these measurements are.

If you are worried about movement though, I would call the hospital just to put your mind at ease.

I was also told this, the growth charts etc don't take into account the baby engaging so please don't worry about your FH. Ironically I had a growth scan at 32 weeks as I was measuring over, and have always measured at least 2cm over, but at the last 2 appointments the measurement has dropped off and I was told it's because the head is engaged.

Thank you ladies so much, you have really put my mind at ease. She is wriggling away at the moment, so I guess I shouldn't worry so much, esp as like I said it has always been quite normal for her to not be a big wriggler. Back pain has eased off too now, so back to the old waiting game, but I'm feeling MUCH happier now, so thanks once again xxx
