2 month old swallowing air

My lo is 8 weeks old and ebf except for a bottle of ebm once a day given by her daddy so I can have some extra zzzz. Recently, when I put her to the boob she will latch but swallow lots of air, then start crying, so I burp her, relatch her, she swallows a lot of air again, I burp her...and so it goes on. It's frustrating for me and for her, and I'm worried she isn't getting enough milk because she gets tired of trying. After breastfeeding my first for 16 months, you'd think I would be better at this. Any tips will be greatly appreciated!

Are you engorged? Maybe she is physically having a hard time latching, in which case expressing a little first would help.

She also could be having a growth spurt and is extra hungry. You could try feeding her more frequently for a few days?

My son is 6 weeks and he swallows lots of air when he is eager to eat.
