This is my second baby and I had an infection with my first c section so I'm super sensitive. So far I've been great healing well. I'm 2 weeks post surgery and I just noticed a lump right above my incision. It's sore, hard like a little ball. I'm kind of freaking out. I called health link and they said I should be seen within 24 hours. But it's Friday night now, husband works tomorrow, we have a 2 year old and I can't drive! Ill get there though that's not the problem.

I'm just worried about the infection. Last time was horrible. I regressed right to day 1 last time. Recovery had to start all over again. I can't go through that again. :( plus I have a penicillin allergy so anything they give me will make me have brutal diarrhea (the alternatives always upset my belly) and I'm worried about passing thrush onto baby. And I'm breast feeding and they told me to take baby to the hospital with me if I need to feed. And I really don't want to take a 2 week old to an emergency room.

Ugh. I know it'll be fine but last time was just awful. I can't go back there. I tried so hard to avoid an infection this time took extra care of myself. Now there's something going on anyways.

But last time my wound was red, warm and swollen and the incision started to weep. This time it's totally different. My incision is totally sealed except for this hard lump that is warm and sore. I'm scared its deep and angry.

I can't offer any advice as I'm not sure what it could be but definitely get it checked out just to be sure, if you're not weeping from the wound though that's a good thing and it might be some scar tissue from your internal stitches or something that could be cleared with some antibiotics.

Don't be scared, I know you had a bad experience before but that doesn't mean that the same thing will happen again this time. I had an infection from my c section too but I was able to take some tablets and everything was sorted out, it may be the same for you. I'd imagine that if the scar is infected and weeping then that's going to be worse as the infection can get inside or the wound can open up.

Good luck xxx

I agree with LDC, just because it went badly last time doesn't mean it'll happen this time! :flower:

I'm not sure what it could be, but you're best to get checked and there should be an antibiotic they can give that won't pass into your milk.

Good luck honey x

It sounds like it could be an infection, if its early they will drain it and give u some antibotics. It could also just be built up scar-tissue and healing from ur second csection. Is it red? imflammed? warm to the touch?

I'm at the hospital for the second time. I went yesterday and was given antibiotics. Told to come back today if it got worse and it's worse!!! Yesterday was sore and tender, today is very swollen, red, hot and inflamed. The cut from surgery looks like its going to bust open any minute. I'm just waiting to see a dr now.

Your right just because it was bad last time doesn't mean it will be this time. I just really thought that I passed the crucial point. But I guess not.

:hugs: I'm sorry to hear you've had to go back, but at least it's getting sorted now. Take it easy :flow:
