2 weeks post-miscarriage, positive HPT and OPK

Can anyone help me figure out what's going on?

My MC bleeding started two weeks ago today. I should have been 6w3d when the bleeding started. I've still got brown/grey discharge when I wipe and my abdomen seems to be getting bigger than it was whilst I was actually pregnant. Did a HPT this morning to check levels and it's still positive. Definitely lighter than the last one I did, which was about a week before my MC, but definitely positive. It's probably similar to my tests a few days after my missed period. I also took a OPK with the same sample and it's the strongest positive I've ever had.

Is this just the HCG interfering with my OPK results, or is there a chance I could be ovulating even though the HCG clearly isn't out of my system yet? I've had a lot of cramps last night and this morning, more than I've had since the first couple of days of this MC. But it's also more than i would normally get with ovulation.

Btw there's no chance it could be a new pregnancy, haven't had sex since the miscarriage started.

Pics for reference. Obviously today's test isn't as dry as the others, but I think it's about the same darkness, if not slightly darker than at 4w4d. I bled bright red for nearly 2 weeks, and had a scan two days after bleeding started where they could only see clot - the gestational sac and yolk sac had been there a week earlier. So I've definitely miscarried, should the hormones be taking this long to come down when I was only 6w3d at the onset on bleeding?

Sorry for your loss.
Though not totally reliable, OPK's can be used as HPT. And considering your line is getting lighter, your HCG is likely just on it's way down to normal which can take a while. If you're concerned, maybe your OB can check your HCG a few times to make sure it's on the way down appropriately?

I'm sorry for your loss. It could be HCG throwing off the test, or it could be ovulation.

I was still getting positive tests 3 weeks after my surgery, but a follow up scan 4 weeks after my miscarriage showed I had ovulated post mc. AF arrived exactly 28 days after surgery (I counted surgery day as Cd1) and I had ovulation symptoms as normal for me around day 14. I can't be 100% sure as the scan can't say when i ovulated during that cycle but I think that I had a normal cycle immediately afterwards. I was 10 weeks when we lost the heartbeat, surgery was done when I would have been 12 weeks.

It took me about 6 weeks after a miscarriage one time for the hcg levels to be completely out of my system and, no, it wasn't a new pregnancy. I went in a little after 4 weeks post miscarriage and they were still at 52 which was strong enough to show up a nice positive on a test. Freaked me out that maybe the baby was still in there after all but I had an ultrasound that showed an empty uterus and 4 days later they dropped to 48. Not to scare you but sometimes a D&C is needed to completely empty the uterus because sometimes some parts from the pregnancy are left over and are still producing hcg. However, my miscarriage WAS a D&C so it could just be that your levels are just taking a bit longer than normal to fall. It is frustrating.

So sorry you are going through this!
After miscarriage your hormone leveks are all over the place so could be causing the positive OPK, theres really no way to know if yoy are ovulating unless you temp. My temps and OPKs have been all over the place since my miscarriage. My HCG levels had been dropping very slowly also. My HCG was still at 5 seven weeks after. At almost 9 weeks it was still at 2! Sometimes it takes a long time to return to normal. I would recommend having you doctor do blood tests until your level is normal because there is a chance you could have retained tissue causing elevated HCG levels. I hope your cycle gets back to normal soon!

Update: now 3.5 weeks post miscarriage. HPT still positive. I don't think it's actually any lighter than at 2 weeks post-miscarriage, but I've ran out of that brand, so it's difficult to be certain. Haven't been doing OPKs as I thought I would wait until I got a BFN, but did one tonight out of curiosity and it's still very positive looking, so I guess it's still HCG interfering.

I hate this whole thing, I hate that the miscarriage happened in the first place and I hate that it's taking so long and preventing me from conceiving again quickly.

Perhaps make a visit to the doctor to see if they can do bloods or something to check your levels?

I had a MC (5w4d) on 19th Oct and had negative HPT's from 7 days after, have taken about 4 more tests since as we started ttc straight after and they are all still negative (even the super sensitive ones). Is there any chance this could be a new pregnancy? I guess it would be super early to have a bfp, but maybe not impossible?

Thanks I would really love to believe it's a new pregnancy but I think that's near impossible at the moment. We only started trying again a week and a half ago and my HPT was still a strong positive that day. Unfortunately can't get an appointment with my GP for at least two weeks either

Ahh how annoying! My GP is a nightmare to get appointments with.
