20 week scan

Hi had 20 week scan last week and was referred to consultant as heart showed abnomal, consultant said that 2 out of 4 valves were working properly and 2 were slower than normal and that pulmonary vessel was dilated ...said heart was abnormal, gave me animo injection and thats come back not downs or edwards syndrome the first part of it, going to london now tomorrow to have another consultant discuss the heart abnormality in detail...does anyone know whether this sounds severe as it sounds to me, apprantly you have 2 doctors to sign off for termination if baby is very ill, just interested in what you think and have heard etc

I noticed no one has replied and I don't know really what to say as I'm not a doctor and I don't know anyone who has had these problems.

Though I was born with some of these problems and I'm happy and healthy now x

try seaching online or if you live in the uk phone the nhs direct up and ask for a bit more info didnt want to read and run but i hope things turn out good in the end xx

Hi there

We had various complications discovered at our 20 week scan last year - very different to yours - but all I wanted to say is good luck and that the specialists in London (Kings, GOS or UCHL) are usually all really good and will be able to answer any questions you may have.
