My little boy just said to me "you're my mummy and you're my daddy too"

Going to cry :cry::cry:

Does that make you sad hun? or are you crying because its a nice thing that he said and you are touched by that? I think its sweet and a very intelligent thing for him to say at his age :-)

I was sad at first. I can see the nice side to it but it's crappy too :(

The more I've thought about it, I'm so glad he sees me as both, rather than missing a parent. He'd been talking about daddy's picking up children at nursery but tonight was the first time he applied it to our situation xx

As long as he is happy and feels secure with you, it will be fine. I do think its a cute thing to say. Hope my boy says that when he gets older as it really is a great understanding of your role in his life and everything that you do for him. You are doing a great job! xx

Thank you :hugs: I'm feeling a bit more calm now. I think it just threw me because it came from nowhere after dinner! xx

Oh bless him that is adorable and lovely and so sad at the same time! You must be doing a good job though because he definitely sees you as being more than enough of a mummy and daddy for him! Hugs hun xx

Aw I think that's sweet but I can see how that might make you sad too. I'm not looking forward to my daughter reaching an age where she can start asking about her daddy and why she doesn't have one, but hopefully she will see me as both of her parents too.

I would take that as a loving thing to say hun. He knows you're all he needs, and loves you to the moon and back for being his Mummy&Daddy rolled into one.
