I dont think saying that was harsh.... My ex did the same thing like 2 weeks ago, and i said why have you only decided to bother when you know i have everything already?? Too me it was like he was only asking to make himself feel better, so if anyone asks him did he buy anything, he can turn it around on me and say i refused.

Just pay no attention to him easier said then done i know, but try to concentrate on just you and baby. If he's really interested he'll keep on trying, then youll see how bothered he is.

Mine contacted me yesterday asking if I wanted him to buy anything.... I'm convinced he left it this late on purpose cos he's such a effing cheapskate.

I wish I'd said something along the same lines as you but I very calmly just said no. To be honest...even if I did need something I wouldn't tell him. I don't want anything from him! x

Thats exactly how i feel now! I dont want anything from him, he's left it so late now, he only offered to begin with cos he knew id have everything! His nights out are way more important to him! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

FOB`s can be such idiots. My FOB said that his family are going to get me XY&Z. We calmly agreed on cot, moses basket, bouncer etc. But then told me that they have only agreed to buy the things if they go into HIS house. Hard job of that when hes losing his fecking house. Arrrgggg!! it makes my blood boil.
Plus i informed him that its highly unlikely that he will even have the baby over night in the first 6 months, so what hell use is a bloody cot for him??
I told him the stuff comes here, or else! But im not holding my breath!

They are such plonkers!!!!

If FOB offers to buy me anything and i already have it im just gonna say well can you transfer the money for the 'whatever' and ill put it into my savings for baby later on, im so annoyed he offered to come up and it was lookng at a good 500 quids worth of a trip and hes only ever offered once to buy something yet never again and he knows i have no money and im struggling so much yet hasnt offered to buy anything. he mentioned it once but never again. I wish he would because i really wanna order the cot and bedding but in total with everything sheets blankets mobile bumper and mattress and cot its 390! i just cant afford it, i have 180!

Sorry to hear the FOB was getting to you I can't believe most of them who want to be involved are leaving it so late to ask if they can buy anything. Really stupid It just seems as though offering this late is just to ease their guilt rather than asking out of concern.

In my case the FOB has changed his number so I can't contact him (I wouldn't have anyway) and I've not spoken to him since I was 4 weeks pregnant so I'm not expecting anything from him.
