20w scan today! yey

I remember being handed my notes and lady saying your booked in for 23rd june. It was 7 weeks away... and we're here already. Omg if the days keep flying by like this im going be due before i know it.

I am looking forward to seeing little one again and team yellow! hehe

Hope it went well hun!

I had mine last Monday. I have to go back for a rescan as baby was naughty and kept moving so the sonographer couldn't get a good view of blood flow to and from the heart.

But I don't mind, just means I get to see this little one again! And I got what I wanted, my third little GIRL!!

Baby wasnt in best position, looked really funny actually. It was sitting up kind of folded over whole way.Women was nice but she didnt talk through it, she did spend an awful amount time looking at the head i was feeling bit worried but she said everything looked perfect.

Despite the bad sickness baby got fairly decent size belly! haha

Here comes the not so good news and very unexpected. Turns out i tested positive to strep b on 6th may and no one has informed me.
So my hopes for home birth looking very unlikely (cant even just have water birth at hosp!) im feeling upset, need to have good chat with my midwife on the 8th july.

I'm not too familiar with it, I've heard of it but not sure what it is or what it means really?

To be honest i dont know much myself but heard of it with few stories attached.

In some midwifes eyes/consultants eyes it means delivery ward only labour/delivery with IV antibiotics every 4hrs so infection isnt passed onto baby.
I know like most things your very misinformed still, best to do your own research and hear everyones views.

My plans of home water birth could be totally out the window. I will be talking to midwife as i was told shes very pro to what a women wants in labour. Hoping that retest 4w before my due date will come back negative. x

I was going to say that you can have it and it can be gone by the time you deliver. I didn't know they routinely tested for it in uk (didn't a few years ago with ds)

I didnt even no they had done it. It looks like it was when i went in to see about my thrush and just goes ill send it off to double check its trush. Never said going check for strep b.

Hmm well in that case it seems a bit of an unnecessary worry for this time of the pregnancy. Fingers crossed it's gone soon at that you can at least have a water birth.
