So I was laid on my back on the sofa, and my Labrador puppy (10 months) very excitedly jumped up and literally slammed her front paws on my uterus, I mean it not my tummy or anything, but exactly where I think baby is, between my belly and pubis.

That was last night and now I'm not feeling much movement... I don't know if it's because I'm worried and I'm looking for it.... But I'm almost sure that I reAlly can't feel movement.

What do I do? I've only seen the midwife once at my 6-8 week appt, because apparently I've "dropped through the net" :-/ so I'm due to see her soon but I don't have a contact number for her.

I'm not bleeding and don't have any pains other than the normal ligament type pain... Just need some advice ladies! Thank you.

My 4 year old lab jumped at me yesterday, full front paws onto the bump. She isn't usually a jumper, so it really took me by surprise, and she is a hefty girl, so it was quite a whack. I was v worried as well, but LO was kicking away as normal this morning. If you have no pains etc try to relax (I know it's hard though) and remember that is what amniotic fluid is for - to protest baby from bumps from our over enthusiastic beasts

:hugs:

Our babies are pretty well protected inside our uterus. I'm sure baby is fine but if you are really worried you should get checked. Do you not have a generic number for community midwives? You can phone your labour ward if you have any concerns (or at least that's how it works up here in Cheshire :)) the numbers should be listed in your pregnancy care record book.

Some nights I don't feel my bubba move whereas other days he moves like crazy. I'm sure everything is perfectly fine x

If you have a lack of movements please call your maternity unit. I am sure things are fine but it's better to get checked out x

any reduced movement is reason to call the hospital or your midwife hun !
i recommend getting a contact number for her asap too
Try drinking a nice big cold glass of water and having a sugary treat lay on your side with your hand supporting your bump.. you should hopefully feel LO give you a thump within 30 mins xx
p.s... LO is really protected in there with all your waters so im sure its nothing to worry about xx

Yep^^

Reduced movement is a reason to call, hon. Please give them a call.

I agree with PP about the lack of movement.

I have a very big, tough Staffordshire Bull Terrier who has caught me a few times, and I've been fine. I just have to be extra careful now I'm Rhesus Neg, as him doing that isn't good :P.

I'm sure you'll be fine hun.
xoxox

I think it would have to be a pretty hefty dog to do any damage....

0800 0147 800 is the pregnancy care line number to speak to a midwife on the bounty app on my phone

This stuff makes me SO glad I have a doppler. I'd be freaking out, and probably would have gone to the emergency room by now! LOL! I'm sure baby is fine, but definitely give them a call at least to ease your worry.

Reduced movement at like 21 weeks isn't really something for much concern since movements can be so sporatic still. My 50 lb Beagle is use to being all over me and she hasn't gotten the fact that my belly is now off limits and she jumped right on my bump the other day (the day before my OB appointment) and I worried like any mommy to be but asked my OB about it at my regular appointment the next day and she said it would truely take a lot to hurt the babies and that the amniotic fluid is really protective. Also babies even once they are born are very hard to hurt, their bones are very flexible when they are first born.
