I'm 21 weeks pregnant and I've been experiencing lower back pain for about a week now. It feels similar to period cramps in my back and nothing expect lots and lots of rest seems to help. The pain has gotten so bad that I don't even want to move from bed.

Does this sound normal? I literally just had an ultrasound today and the tech said everything was looking splendid with our LO. I'm still feeling lots of movement, so I feel strongly that LO is OK. However, I don't know how much longer I can take this constant back pain. It's like having severe period cramps!

Anyone else experienced this?

I just wanted to add that the pain is constant, not intermittent. It doesn't come and go, it stays for long periods of time (hours or more) before I feel any relief.

Maybe give your midwife a ring! I've not had this it might be normal but always best to ring them if you're concerned.

I've been getting lots of lower back pain too in the last week. I've found that using a heat patch is relieving it slightly but it's taking a good few hours before it starts to help.

It could be a pulled muscle or where the baby is lying on a nerve. Maybe try a heating pad on Med setting and see if that helps. I have been going to a chiropractor during my pregnancy and that has helped a lot too. But just keep an eye on it, if it continues maybe call up the dr and see what they recommend.

Yep I'm 21 weeks too my lower back pain is horrible. Twice Ive had to take tyenol it was so bad. It doesn't help that my job already puts a strain on my back. I asked the Dr she said it was "normal"
