21day blood test..info please!

Hi ladies it's my first time posting in here.

Me and hubby have been ttc baby no3 for 14 months, I've been to see the gp they've taken swabs yo rule out infection they came back clear, she's now decided to order me a ultrasound to see if there's anything visual causing me not to conceive and also booked me in for a 21 day blood test if I'm honest I'm not sure what this is or what it's for the gp didn't explain.

Any ladies that could tell me what it is?

Hi! The 21 day blood test checks progesterone levels to make sure you are ovulating. I had trouble conceiving as I was not ovulating on my own, needed Clomid to kick start things!

Thanks Hun, the doctor never explained that just said well do a 21day blood test along side a ultrasound.

The US makes sense, my Dr did one the first time just to check ovulation had actually occurred as well and check everything looked normal in there. She didn't bother with US for the subsequent months but still did the 21day progesterone test each time.
