As you can see from the title, I have finally decided to go see a RE since we have been actively trying for 22 months.
Background on us.... We are both healthy 33 y/o's. This will be our first child. I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism/graves disease back in November which they believe has contributed to why I am not pregnant yet. I have been on medication since December 2012, my levels are in the normal range now and I have been told that it is safe for us to try to get pregnant.
Throughout the past year and a half, I have had an HSG, transabdominal/transvaginal ultrasound, thyroid ultrasound and plenty of bloodwork to test my thyroid levels and fertility levels. Everything has checked out fine and I have been told they are all normal.
Hubby has also gone for 2 different sperm analysis tests and things also checked out fine other than they said it was a little viscous (thick). He is trying to drink more water since he was told that could help.
I temp and do OPK's and I do indeed ovulate. I have cycles that range from 29 - 31 days each month, and I've noticed that I ovulate on CD13 and then CD16 every other month. Its interesting to see a pattern.
One thing I have noticed is that my periods are not very heavy at all. I do have uncomfortable cramping for a day before and the day of AF but it goes away following. My first day is considered Medium bleeding then light and then goes to spotting. It usually only lasts maybe 3 or 4 days. I am starting to wonder if I have a problem with my uterine lining.
We time BD according to my temps/OPK's, I feel like we have covered everything each month in order to get pregnant but it just never happens. Thats where the appoint with the RE comes in. Its in 2.5 weeks, I am so nervous and excited at the same time to be able to talk to someone about this. I have been working with my obgyn and endocrinolgist but they can only do so much. I am really hoping that we will be able to narrow down what the issue is so that we can have a baby. I am getting a bit worried about having a baby due to my age. I know its still possible but lets face it, we aren't getting any younger.
Anyway, I am looking for some buddies to go through this new process together. I could really use some encouragement and support through this process. Anyone in a similar situation? Any words of wisdom/advice?
Always love hearing from you lovely ladies...
