Hello, I am new to this was wondering I am 22 weeks as of yesterday and I have been having tightening in lower abdominal area. My little boy sits lower were the tightening is coming from. Kinda does hurt like light cramping. No bleeding or anything. Is happening a lot... kinda scared. heard could be normal but not sure. I haven't drank much today or yesterday I have had two glasses working on third. Having pain when I move in same area.

I get that too. Pretty hilarious - it makes my bump pop out on weird angles

Im having the same pain and im only 16 weeks along. Im hoping its because im having a baby boy that's sitting really low :)

When i feel tightening it is actually my baby pushing out. Normally his head or back and makes the skin around really tight. It's definitely uncomfortable. I know it is what I am feeling since this is my third pregnancy. Plus that spot bulges out a bit.

I used to get a heavy/ball pushing against my skin sort of tightening feeling. My doc said its a form of a contraction from dehydration. I'm told to drink one gallon of water dialy. Three glasses are def not enough. Make sure you are getting enough fluid as it's important for your placenta and baby. It's your body signaling you to drink more fluid.

I get these too and I know baby is sitting very low (I got poked in the groin area last night ) but also when I have not drank enough too!

If you feel your belly and can feel the top of your uterus get hard like a rock when this happens (probably just above your belly button for you) then this is Braxton Hicks contractions. You need to be drinking a lot more water.

If your bump is looking lopsided at times, that slight pain, and tightening all happen when I get Braxton hicks. I didn't really know for sure if that's what it was until it happened at my specialist appointment during a scan.

Anyways they can be more frequent with a bit of pain if your dehydrated so you really need to drink at least 1/2 gallon of water and better to drink more each day. Also I was told not peeing when you should can cause it too.

Obviously if they are persistent, become painful and have a pattern then you need to contact your mw/ob
