22 wk bleed

can anyone help?
im 22 weeks pregnant, for the last 5 nights i have woken to a gush of fresh blood. the baby is kicking and heart rate fine. I am waiting to go for a scan next week but trying to find information as to severity of this.
My midwife said something about blood pockets in placenta that are bursting but have tried web search and cant find anything similar to that!!!!

That sounds really scary. Hopefully it's not a lot of blood... Is there any reason you haven't gone into the ER to get checked out?

Must be very worrying. I think will get more responses if you post in 2nd tri. Really hoe it is nothing serious.
