really gross, but I feel like I can smell period blood. it happened a few weeks ago too but my own smell is disgusting me. I feel like I smell like a pad. so gross!!!!

Oh my god, I don't smell blood, but the smell of a pad! Minging, think it's our bodily functions changing. Just showering more!

Oh my. I haven't noticed this but..my nose is constantly stuffy so I can't smell that well. I hope I'm not stinky.

I've noticed this off and on the past few weeks when I've used the bathroom too! I thought I was going crazy! It always scares me at first because I expect to see blood when I look down. I don't know what it could be because it disappears almost as soon as I notice it.

Thought I was the only one. Relieved (sort of?) to know I'm not. No idea what's causing it though as I haven't had any blood since 13 weeks.

I smelled that sometimes in the first...oh, 16 weeks or so. Not something you want to smell when pregnant. But I've never had any spotting or tinted discharge, so there's no blood beside the smell whatsoever.

Yeah, I'm relieved I'm not the only one too! The good news is nobody else can smell it because I asked my hubby (who wouldn't know what a used pad smells like anyway lol) but I asked him if I smell funny and he said no. Maybe it's our crazy noses that can smell up the vaginal canal, thru the cervix, and reach the placenta lol.

Thank you for sharing this! I'm 23 weeks along and swear I smell like old blood, bordering on 'wet dog' smell. It's hard to tolerate. Showering a lot helps but it's winter so of course it makes flaky skin worse. The joys of pregnancy! Lol

Oh my skin is annoying me too!!!!
More showers because I'm aware of a sort of smell, I reckon it's discharge? It all changes so why not smell too! Haha gross. It's just different! I can smell the world at the moment.

I would smell blood too and mine is from little cracks in my nose :/ I freak out because I am like I hope I am not bleeding. Once I blow my nose I have a little ting of blood

I don't smell what you guys are smelling but I get kind of smell hallucinations all the time and no one else can smell them. I had a much better than average sense of smell before being pregnant and now it's just ridiculous.

Yesterday I took my bathrobe out of the washing machine and was convinced it smelt of cheesy feet or belly buttons and had to wash it again. OH couldn't smell anything but clean clothes

I am 19 weeks pregnant and I've been smelling blood on and off and I have a metallic taste in my mouth. My boyfriend even said he smelt blood so of course I freaked out but turns out no blood. I haven't bled at all this pregnancy so I'm not sure why both of us can smell it on/around me.

Oh my god! Lol I thought I was the only one! I went to my OB yesterday for a check up and I forgot to mention this. I don't quite smell period but for me it's a strong scent almost like ammonia. Every pregnancy I had this. Totally gross. I keep showering And washing it returns if I sweat etc. Last pregnancy I drive my dr mad insisting there was an infection I did about 100 swabs everything always normal. It's hormonal changes. So nasty. It only jut Evers happens in pregnancy for me and nothing gets rid of it :(

I've had this happen in previous pregnancies, and I'm pretty sure its caused by hormones, just like your period. Estrogen and progesterone are always fluctuating throughout pregnancy, so I guess sometimes it just sort of mimics when you get your period. Hope that makes sense.
