27 degrees in baby's room

Just put her down for a nap in just her vest, no sleeping bag and it took half an hour for her to sleep, she just sat and babbled:dohh:

My LO's room is 27 degrees and she sleeps in just her nappy or just a short sleeved vest. No sleepsuit or blankets here! Window open, fan pointed near the cot so has wafts of cool air.

It's been seriously hot here like 42 degrees outside its nuts .. You can't even breath outside our a/c isn't kicking in proper it can't keep up jords room is so warm she's been going to bed in a diaper with the window open and her fan blowing on her! She usually goes to bed between 8-9 she's been whining till 11 before she falls asleep it's crazy I hope it cools down here ... I can't take it and I like heat but not this hot

Yup, the fan shouldnt be directly pointing at the child. It causes the skin to cool too much and so the blood vessels constrict and the child actually retains more core heat.

It's been 25 in lo's room all day too, was last night but he was ok. I just made sure if he stirred, I gave him some juice and kept him stripped.

For thoses who put a fan in the room do you point it away from LO and leave it there, or do you let it circulate-our fan moves 180 degrees round, but then some of the air might hit LO not sure what best?!

Thanks xxx

27C in twins room tonight. There in a short sleeved vest and 1 tog sleeping bag. Window and door open to get a through draft. Wil close window when we go yo bed though as they sleep at front of house so dont like keeping it open.

26/27 degrees in lo's room tonight. I've put her to bed in just a vest, no sleeping bag. Can't get to her windows as we currently have a sheet over her curtain to block out the light a bit more but I think she will be ok. It's usually warmer in her room in the evening anyway as the sun sets at the back of the house where her room is but it tends to cool once its dark. She was chatting to herself for a while but it sounds like she's dropped off now. Will put a thin blanket over her later when we go to bed I think.

I don't have my own but I saw this post while browsing. I live in Florida and I know that we get REALLY hot. Like 35c usually in the summer. Almost all of the babies I know here sleep in just their diaper and a cotton sheet on them if it is hot in the house.

We've got the same problem! A is just wearing a nappy and 1 tog bag. He doesn't feel too hot when I check him so I think he's ok. He won't sleep without a bag!

We don't have a 1 tog bag but it's become such a sleep cue. Wouldn't sleep n just a vest so ended up digging out his old swaddling cloth (arms out as its so small), worked a treat. Only other thing I could think of was swaddling him in a muslin.

It's 26 degrees in Alex's room tonight. Have ditched the 1 tog bag tonight and have him in a short sleeved thin cotton vest, may put a thin cellular blanket over his legs later on. Doubt he'll sleep well without the bag as he loves them but the heat is making him sleep terribly anyway, was up from 2 to 4am last night with him and then up for the day at 6.10, blah!

Los room is 25 tonight, and she's been outside and in the car all day so has been quite hot, we tried putting her down in short sleeve vest no bag but she just crawled about babbling for ages! Ended up in her bag with just a nappy and settled after that. She got herself rather sweaty with all that wriggling but feels cool enough now. There's another tough one- too hot and sweaty so u undress them, then sit worrying all night that cooling off after sweating makes u chilly, time to go back and add another layer..?! Lol!

Its awful isnt it. So hot for them poor things its proby the hottest they've known it.
Lo is in just a vest tonight with window open. Room temp was 27 when she went down. Last night she was really poorly tho. She had a nap in the afternoon with the window closed ( cos noises wake her up) and when she wpke she wasnt right. She was drowsy, crying, clingy, i checked her temp and it was 38.8! I rang the out of hrs doc as i was so worried about heatstroke but she wasnt as worried about her temp as i was. So had to go for no sleeping bag last night for first time and she still sttn. I was worried too as it is a major sleep cue for her but she was fine. I normally wrap a blanket around her as a daytime nap cue too but had to stop that also. Shes a bit better now her temp has gone down but shes still a grumpy baby :nope:

It's ridiculously hot :( I'm not a fan of the heat anyway, and I think my baby is hot-blooded like me. Her sleeping bag is a sleep cue too and it's hot for that. She was sooo close to sleeping through and now it's all gone to pot. She's sweating and miserable and waking a lot when she gets sticky. All windows open upstairs and still hot :(

Hi ladies, What do you all use to measure the temperature in your LO's room? x

Envious of the heat! The thermometre that came with Sophie's sleeping bag says it's 8-10 celsius in here. She's fully dressed, and in a 2.5tog bag with a bamboo blanket over her, and her little ears are icey!

can relate minites, it's 11 degrees and dropping here, I hate it~ all this talk of summer makes me jealous x

Oh god its too hot for them. My 18 month old has been in just a nappy but it takes him two hours to get to sleep and he's been waking 3 ish times through the night screaming his head off. I am excusted wish the sun would sod off if I am honest. He woke in the early hours because he was cold soI can't win. Baby has been fine just waking for more feeds I imagine thirty poor things
