We saw the consultant after 2 years TTC on 6th September. He booked another appt for 23rd Dec (tomorrow!) and said to have monthly blood tests carried out, pelvic scans, a post-coital test, a hycosy test and my hubby to repeat his sperm analysis.

Well we've done all of that and more!! I took soy for the first time 2 cycles ago and began using progesterone cream. I fell pregnant that cycle but miscarried at just over 4 weeks. Last cycle my system seemed to be back to normal and my progesterone levels were good again.

My concern is that at tomorrows appt he'll go "oh well you don't have low progesterone anymore and you have conceived again so just go away and keep trying on your own".

What do you reckon??? Have I actually made things worse by trying to make them better???!!!

I really hope that's not the case for you dear. Best of luck for tomorrow.

hi there,

Best of luck for tomorrow.
Do you need to mention the bfp you got? I wouldn't, as it was most likely a chemical.

Was the progesterone cream prescribed? Were all your tests clear?

If your tests are all fine & your tubes are open, they'll probably start with Clomid (which some say that soy has similar properties, but I know nothing about that) for a few tries & then maybe IUI.

hope it goes well for you

I had the pregnancy confirmed by my doctor so it is on my medical records now. I had positive hpts for 5 days in a row and positive bloods at the doctors so it wasn't a chemical as with a chemical the hormone is only there for less than a day in most cases.

I'm hoping that even though I did get pregnant they'll still help as I've had 4 miscarriages now so that is proof that natural conception doesn't work well for us!!

Fantastic thanks Gill!!! I did put a very long thread on here somewhere!!

Basically I was given wrong info about my progesterone levels before so now I have been given the all clear for everything! All tests good etc.

Hubby's SA was very different from before going from 28 million to 131 million but the morphology dropped from 11% to 5%. We've been advised to have an advanced SA done privately and if they recommend ICSI then we get funding for that and should be able to start in April/May!!!

If the advanced SA says he is ok then we are "unexplained" and will start IVF in September which is when we will have been TTC for 3 years.

My consultant thinks it is a sperm issue due to my early miscarriages as well. It looks like poor sperm is getting to the eggy and then my body implants whatever it can - viable or not!! This is a really positive thing if we do have ICSI as they would only be putting in good quality embryos so we have a good chance of at least 1 clinging on!!

I am soooooo excited about 2011 now!!! :)

xxxxx
