After a few months of trying to ovulate naturally we tried 50mg clomid. This amount was not sufficient so we went with 100mg clomid. I took the drug provera to stimulate my mense and then from day 3-7 I was on 100mg Clomid. I surged naturally on day 16.I had 3 mature follicles and gave permission to do iui with the chance of multiples. On cycle 17 I had my first iui and it was PAINFULL! cramps right away that lasted about 50 min. I laid on the dr bed for an hour which helped. Then I stayed laying down on my couch the rest of the day at home.
I felt every pregnancy symptom in the book for two weeks. Then I started spotting, this made me more excited....implantation bleed?? --nope I got my period. I tried 3 pregnancy tests all negative.
My fertility DR wants mento have a period again before doing a 2nd iui. So if I don't start by July 28th then I call the clinic and start Provera again.

My wife and I have been together almost 9 years and married for almost 7. We want the opportunity like all on this forum to parent.

:-)

Hi,
I know its been months ago but I wanted to ask how your 2nd IUI went?
I was given the same drugs as you... 100mg Clomid d3-7 and provera to start my mense as I very rarely start myself, maybe 4-5 times a year. Clomid works great. Lovely follicles!
My 1st IUI was painful, have cramps for two days. Then got my period.
2nd IUI was not painful at all. I didn't cramp. It also didn't work and I got my period d31.
After looking at my tests the Dr can see that my lining just isn't getting that boost of oestrogen to help implantation. So we are skipping a cycle and I'm taking Fematab 4mg a day (tried 2mg but it had no affect at all) for the first 12 days of my cycle to help build a thicker lining before my 3rd IUI. So fingers crossed in the new year.

Hi, the first 2 times we did clomid, then switched to Letrozole(femera) for our third try....way better for the lining. We will try again in the new year :-)

My first iui was super crampy during it and for about an hour afterwards. The second and third were fine though. I also use Provera.
I was really down in a rut after the third time didnt work. I let myself feel sorry for myself for a month and then we decided we would take a 4 month rest as the medications made me a little crazy :-)

Best of luck to you!

Hi,
Yes the medications can make you really crazy. I was crying my eyes out at nothing one day and at the same time laughing uncontrolably at myself. Crazy!

I think the break until January will give me time to get a hopeful skip in my step again. The negative tests, though I've only had two, are very hard. This time last year we talked about starting a family and thought I would at least have a bump for Christmas. But still, I don't have to stress about provera/clomid/fematab/hcg/iui for a whole 6 weeks! I'm on holidays!!

Best of luck to you, lets keep in touch. I think we are both in the same boat :)
