Please help if you have any experience. We saw nasal bone today. But nuchal came back at 3mm. Which they say puts us in the 95-99% (high). Bloods come back Friday and (if we elect for it) CV after...

Any experience??

Our nuchal scan was 3.5mm, our blood results came back as HCG 0.93 and Papp-a at 0.67 (I'll double check these shortly). These, alongside my age (36 at delivery) gave us a chance of 1:11 of our baby having down syndrome. It was the nuchal translucency measurement that pushed up our risk ratio.

I had an amnio at 17 weeks and baby is fine. It's a hugely worrying time. I have everything crossed for you hun.

I seriously cannot thank you enough for responding and for the great info. This is terrifying... :(

I was so worried about other things - miscarrying, how my DS will adjust, etc - this worry never really even crosses my mind.

We had a measurement of 3.7 for the nuchal thickness on Tuesday, so we have to go back tomorrow for a more detailed scan and probably CVS or amnio test. It is an incredibly worrying time, but keep in mind that most people who go through this have perfectly healthy babies. And I've heard that if you've seen the nasal bone, that decreases the risk of Down's syndrome.

Hope your results come back ok tomorrow. Sending you positive thoughts! Xx

Thank you for your kind words. They called and said they have booked me for an 11:30 CVS tomorrow if we want it. This way when the bloods come in (tomorrow morning) we can go right away.

They said if I am willing to get the CVS then it can be no later than Saturday since I turn 13 weeks then. I think we will probably do it with all the fear they now instilled...

Since you are in the US you could also look into MateriTY21 or Harmony, which is a blood test for DS.

Thank you! We are looking into this as well now!!

My numbers came back. 1/1100 for downs. We are doing additional blood tests but that's all. Thank you for all of your kind words ladies.

Congrats........XOXOXO

Congratulations, that must be such a relief! Great news! Xx

Just an update. There was an additional soft marker on the anomaly scan. A bright spot on baby's heart plus the (now at 18.5 weeks) 5.5mm nuchal. Doctors strongly recommended amnio and I had it done yesterday. Praying and hopeful for a positive result. It's all just so stressful :(

Oh hun, so sorry you are having such a stressful and worrying time. Well done for being brave and having amnio at least you will know this way for sure and hopefully it will be good news sweet. i am also high risk but refused Amnio and some days that catches up with me. My scans were all good but blood off. So I understand yr worry. Will be thinking of you, keep us updated xx
