3 week old coughing :(

LO started with a really stuffy nose on thursday and was coughing here and there. I called his pediatrician who said not to worry unless he had a fever, but yesterday and today his cough has gotten a lot worse He still has no fever though. I'm just not sure what to do, he seems so miserable and I just want to make him feel better!!

My LO has gotten a cough twice already. She has one right now. Both times the coughs were short dry coughs, no fever and they don't seem to bother her. My ped also said not to worry about it, they're bound to pick up small bugs here and there!

my little man has a cold too we took him to see a doctor cos hes really blocked up and has a cough too she said theres nothing we can really do at this age just use saline drops in his nose they help a little bit but not much! Its so annoying! Hes being very clingy and doesnt want to be put down! We didnt get much sleep last night!!

My little boy also has a bit of a cold just now. Coughs and snotty nose. Feel so guilty as he is only 3 weeks old too. I just wanna hug him loads and let no one ełse touch him now.

thank you everyone! we've been using saline drops and running his humidifier constantly. His cough just makes me want to cry!

if the cough sound a bit strange it could be bronchiolitus which is really not good for babies. not tying to scare you but if your not happy get lo checked out, especially if you can see sucking in between ribs when they breathing. (i'm paranoid as my lo had it at 3 weeks).

bringing him to the doctors in the morning we both haven't slept longer then 20 minutes all night and he's usually a great sleeper. He has started to wheeze and although he is eating he's having a hard time doing it. I've finally got him to fall asleep in my arms and I don't dare try to put him down since I know he needs some rest, I can always sleep tomorrow right? haha.

I hate seeing him this sick breaks my heart!

I ended up calling NHS24 last night and got an emergency appointment. My wee guy was struggling to breathe and was coughing a lot.

Doc said his temp was fine, so long as he still wants to eat and is alert not to worry. They said babies try and breathe through their noses but if they can't they will breathe through mouth rather than stop breathing- if will come out as a cry though!

My wee man only wants to sleep on me too....I can't bring myself to move him as he is not well and if it means he sleeps and feels better, I will make do with no sleep.

ugh so sorry about your little guy it looks like were in the same boat. This is the worst isn't it? I would do anything to make him feel better!
